Oh Ya, that Rondo guy is so not a pure PG... dude only averaged 8 assists per game in the reg season and 10 APG in the playoffs

Not being a ballhogging PG due to having gifted ballhandlers as teammates doesn't make u any less of a pure PG. Andre Miller is gonna be sharing the handling with Rudy and Roy, + he'll have Aldridge getting his touches in the highpost, doesn't make him any less of a pure PG.
Rondo is the primary Celtic playmaker, and runs the offense more then any of his teammates. Pierce and Ray mainly score off of their touches, Rondo mainly creates for teammates of his touches and does a very job at it. Definitely a pure PG.

And LOL @ comparing Rondo's game to Fisher's, they're like polar opposites.

PS : This thread is so full of OT

I think its really hard to give best/worst case scenarios for Dragic right now, since he hasn't shown what his NBA game will look like when he has successfully converted his entire European game into NBA format. I do think the Udrih model rsavaj mentioned is a pretty solid benchmark considering the parallels between their background and playing style, but I'll hold my breath on guessing until I see how he blossoms this season.

I'm OK with Udrih for now. Having Udrih play BEHIND Nash is fine but I don't like the idea of having an Udrih as our starting PG of the future.

And for Dudley, there's literally nothing comparable between he and Mashburn except their height is close...I think he's more Tay Prince/Battier guy - he could be a defensive guy, corner 3 ball hitter...

We're not talking about comparing them to these guys now, but theorising as to the kind of players they could develop into.. I don't think there's anything to suggest Dudley could ever develop into the kind of uber-defender that Prince is, Tay is an athletic freak with like a 68 foot wingspan. Maybe Battier.. but these guys are probably 2 of the best SF defenders of the decade, to suggest there's any reason to think Duds will magically develop his D to that level is asinine.

As I recall, Mash was a strong, agile 3 who could hit his shots and use his size to abuse smaller 3's. Before his injuries I believe he was a pretty solid defender as well? Good all-rounder, with some decent athleticism to boot. Now I can't see Duds developing any aspect of his game to "premier" levels (ie shooting, defence, slashing etc) but he certainly has the potential to be very good at everything. And, as he gets older, he may very well bulk up and get stronger, like most players do. As he has already seen some time at the 4, it's not entirely inconceivable that, given a bit of extra size and strength, that he could use it to his advantage ala Mash. Doubtful that he'll ever be the scorer that Mash was, that's a given.

.. actually having said that, I am liking the Battier comparison.

I would be very happy if Dragic could somehow figure out how to hit his shots, and possibly develop into a Hinrich type of player.. ah, it's free to dream I guess.

When I think of Dragic i'm often reminded of the Simpsons:
