Ostertag anyone?

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Mon Sep 14, 2009 9:23 pm

I was surprised Ostertag wanted to make a come back and then I was surprised the Jazz would not give him a try out. Blazers were only team to give a try out. If he can move at all, then he could a servable back up center and he could always be a body body that protects the basket. I am not saying I think he would make the team but I was surprised Jazz did not even try him out. He was worth a shot. Why did the Jazz add a wingman as a potential harpring replacement when Jazz already have excess wing players when they could have added a veteran center whom could be a back up center or a third string center. I know Jazz management likes Dupree alot and I appreciate that but even if he turns out to be a good player there is no playing time available for him.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

O-Tag will always have a place in my heart.

Not on my team.

I think you all underestimate Ostertag's value as a defender. The guy was wildly inconsistent but if you put Ostertag in his prime on the Jazz right now he's easily the best defender on the team and addresses a glaring weakness: interior defense.

Edit: I meant to say he's easily the best post defender. Both Brewer and AK are better all-around defenders.
