Bigby out 4 weeks

Post#1 » by humanrefutation » Wed Sep 16, 2009 7:54 pm

Sorry if this has been posted anywhere else, but I just heard this on WSSP. I wasn't happy with cutting Anthony Smith then, and definitely am not happy about it now.

Yeah, Anthony Smith getting cut could definitely hurt now.

Hopefully Martin is ready so Rouse time is minimal.

I don't care who goes down. I'll never have any regrets about Smith getting released.

Did they ever say why Smith was released? He looked good in preseason.

There has to be a flaw in his personality... Or maybe he was just in the wrong places at the wrong times in a lot of a plays?

But when I watched him, he was blowing guys up coming across the middle and making big plays around the ball.

If the Steelers got rid of him and the Packers did as well (two organizations I consider to be very good) then I would have to think that he isn't worth having.

So four weeks is three games. Could be worse I guess, but Rouse is horrendous in coverage.

Probably on an island by myself but I still like Aaron rouse's potential. He's still young and was a developmental player coming out of college. Great size and good speed. I always thought he could turn out to be a good player. It'll be nice to see him get consistent reps with this defense.

I guess we'll find out if Darren Perry can work some magic on Rouse. Raw tools are certainly there.

Rouse played pretty well against the Bears, specifically on the goal line stand.

Not good. And I'm hearing that Crosby didn't practice today but I don't know if it's injury, illness or something else.

Reminiscent of Zaza Island, you should establish Rouse Island. Then you too, can prove all of the doubters wrong like us noble inhabitants of Zaza Island who wanted him over Gadz.

sounds good mags. Me and you can be the first castaways. Remember it took Nick Collins a few years before he actually broke out last season. Hopefully Aaron can do the same this year.

Interesting you bringing up zaza. I was totally with ya on that one.

I thought Aaron Rouse played well for Bigby. The Cincinnati game should be a good test for Rouse as I'm sure they'll test him on deep play actions to OchoCinco or Henry.

He's involved in a trade for Adam Dunn.

I just read that too Twirl.

Melvin's an awesome GM. Rizzo insisted on acquiring the great Jason Kendall, but Melvin wouldn't budge and Rizzo ended up settling for Crosby and Wise.

Kendall would make a great tight end. Take that anyway you want. ;)

Rumor that I heard on Anthony Smith was that he was too much of 'riverboat gambler'. He made some plays by gambling, but was too often caught out of position on others.
