Suns Think Their Players Are God.

Post#1 » by TheMan44 » Thu Sep 17, 2009 8:39 am

I'm convinced the Suns (Ownership, GM, Training Staff, and Coaches) think their players are untouchable, non-injurious, men of steel. In other words, the Suns think their players are GOD.

Why?

Because they refuse to add depth at point, center, and power forward.

While every team in the NBA is stocking up with 15 players to fill out the roster, the Suns are just sitting back thinking about who's the next player they can buyout to save them more money.

Some teams are even forced to waive players cause they have too much depth (Rockets, Mavs, Nets) while others have deliberately made signings just to have 15 men (e.g. Clippers just re-signed Skinner and Novak while Pacers just signed Luther Head even though they have 3 other point guards!!!)

NBA teams are all filled with ridiculous depth while the Suns are a single injury away from destruction. Teams have deliberately filled up 15 men so that they have a 3rd unit as a backup's backup. T-Wolves and Wizards each have 4 point guards. Meanwhile, Clippers for example have this:

C Kaman - Camby - Jordan
F Griffin - Smith - Skinner
F Thornton - Davis - Novak
G Gordon - Butler - Collins
G Baron - Telfair - Taylor

Where is the Suns depth and why do they think their limited players with no depth are GOD?

There was no point in adding more players past the minimum requirement.

The Suns aren't contenders anymore.

If things go wrong, Amare will be traded and they will start rebuilding.

If things are going well and Amare plays well, he will get a max-contract and they will hope that Frye, Clark, Dudley, Lopez, Dragic, etc. continue to develop.

The Suns will be fun to watch this year.

There is still some good talent on this team with Nash, Amare, J-Rich, Frye, Dudley, and Hill.

If they stay healthy, I think they will make the playoffs.

We could really use a defensive glue guy like Greg Buckner - he would be a lot more useful than Tucker

Actually, I think a lot more teams are keeping at the minimum this season. Money is tight now and not everyone can afford to pay guys to be on their inactive list.

doesn't matter what other teams are doing with their roster numbers. What matters is who is left as available free agents when the time to add a player surfaces. besides, we have run with a 13 man roster for the past 5 yrs.

Right now, if we anticipate adding a c/pf, who can shoot, at mid season (bye bye TGriff) ... I'd keep an eye on CMihm and RLafrentz. Both, injured as of late, (don't we have miracle workers as trainers?) ... but they might give us the minutes needed when needed, at the minimum (which is certainly part of the criteria as well)

Sarver wouldn't have 15 players even if he had 13 and could get Kobe at the minimum.

Yeah I noticed some fans think certain players are like that over another. It's the same type of fan that thinks Nash and Amundson are the best thing to happen to the Suns yet they want to get rid of Amare quick and think Amundson deserves playing time over Earl Clark

Yeah it is kinda the same as how you would trade a two-time MVP for a bag of dirt and think an inexperienced and unproven rookie DESERVES PT over a guy who has worked his way into the rotation and been productive. Yeah, now that you mentioned it.

Well I mean it is funny that the same people want to see Amare traded so quick and don't think he's worth a max contract yet a 35 year old PG is worth a high salary.

Amare has the tools to be a defensive threat and fails to improve year after year. He talks to the media about being traded and is walking on surgically repaired knees and his eye almost fell off last season. The concept of trading him is going to come up, and if you think otherwise you simply aren't thinking.

No one here has claimed the nash extension was a steal.

Stop acting like an ignoramous.

Seriously.

Everyone thinks you need to change your attitude. You're either getting a hard on from the negative attention you cultivate or you're completely ignorant to the piss poor opinions you have.

Seriously.

Maryvale, you're not funny and you're not intelligent, what do you want to be when you grow up? The time to think about that is *now*

Reguardless Amare is a top 10-15 player in the league despite his faults of not playing much defense. The only way the Suns should trade him is if he asks to be or if they know he's leaving for FA but if he wants a max contract with the Suns I don't see why he shouldn't get one.

I'm not trying to be anything man or look for attention, did you ever think what I type is what I think about basketball? You have every right to disagree with it but I'm not trying to get a rise out of people that's what I actually think.

As for intelligence all I'll say about that is that I'm currently attending college and had a 4.0 last year. Chances are that wont happen again but I would say getting a 4.0 while talking courses like english, reading and communications is great.

well if ama´re comes back like he used to come back than he´s untouchable.
i have to agree with mary, some of us don´t get the point that a player like amundson is a scrub. i don´t even think that he would get pt on any other nba team. the same with dragic, these players dind´t prove anything yet. hope they prove me wrong.

to the topic - what shloud sarver and kerr do else than think that ghill looks like 21, nash like 22 and every single player is better than any other nba player - they both know that this team has no chance to get past the first round, so let´s just go out and have some fun.

Props to the great one

Oh well you have a 4.0 in undergrad reading and english then your opinions must be valid.

I went to school on a full ride scholarship and was on the Dean's List the whole time, now I work for a university. I feel weird bragging about that, so I can't even fathom what it would feel like to validate myself with my first year GPA

For the record, I *never* thought what you type was simply what you think about basketball. You have an agenda with every post. Whether it's touting how awesome Maryvale is or how much you hate a two time MVP. You ignore the obvious and dwell on the insignificant, and you bother *everyone* with your irrationality.

Stop it.

Seriously.

BS.... you fessed up a while back about your hate for both Nash and Admunson. (did you not ?)

and your posts continue the bias....... It may be 'what you think about basketball' and you certainly have a right to state it... but it does not insulate you from being the occasional Village Idiot, GPA and all

lol i like the use of the term 'agenda' to actually mean 'opinions.' its like when you see someone on tv accusing obama of having an 'agenda.' duh, you know?

there's no reason for the suns to sign anyone now anyway. LETS ROLL

Suns will be contenders. Bar is set low for the them, and we'll come out like we did in 04-05 and kill the league again. Can't wait, 50 wins at least.
The Phoenix Suns - 54-28. Projected Record: 54-28 3rd Seed

The Phoenix Suns - 2010-2011 Projected Record: 30-52 3rd lottery pick.
