It will be interesting to see how the ratings do. Kimbo drew a good number of fair weather fans while Fedor is well known among legit MMA fans.

I'd heard they were going to do this fight on the same night as a WEC event. Kind of a preemptive attack. I guess they didn't have the balls after all.

That could be far enough away that the UFC plans some event to counter program. If not, I'm sure there will at least be a PPV replay on Spike.

If it's on CBS and not Showtime then this event could draw fairly well. Let's see who else they add to the card though...

I know Shields has been itching for another fight so that's a possibility.

Why the Sears Centre? Put it at the United Center or Allstate Arena unless the Wolves and Bulls/Blackhawks are already scheduled to be using them.

EDIT:
Circus at Allstate Arena, Bulls and KISS at United Center.

Guess it's good for the Sears Centre if this happens. National publicity.

It looks like Mayhem is fighting Jake Shields for the vacated 185 belt. HELL YES.

Would love to see Mayhem beat Shields, Mayhem's hockey mask intro is the best going in non Japanese MMA. I see Sheilds being too strong for Mayhem. Shields by UD.

Looks like Jacare and Mousasi are on this card too. Not fighting each other but holy **** I'm hoping that Jacare trains at my gym before this fight. I'd be so happy.

Brett Rogers by bloody, brutal, decapitating, knock-out upset over Fedor. And with that, Fedor signs with the UFC for a meager salary afterwards :D

I might just have to go to this one, fedor and mousasi are my two favorite non-ufc fighters. Gunna be great to see Fedor break Rogers' arm.

Another Strikeforce card with the makings of something great. Hopefully all the scheduled fighters make it to fight night.

Half of me expect's the Rogers hype train to come crashing down and just be horrifically dominated, the other half is he gets lucky and catchs Fedor early on the chin and its game over.

Looking forward to the card, esp the Middle Weight championship, finally get that sorted. Though it is a shame that Cung Le probably won't fight again :/

Yeah, I don't see how this fight makes it out of the first 2 or 3 minutes. Rogers catches Fedor quickly or he just gets picked apart and subbed (if he doesn't get TKO'd) a la Tim Sylvia.

Or I could be severely underestimating Rogers' chin and defense.

Fedor is coming to Chicago.

On Wednesday, Illinois' athletic commission approved Strikeforce's Nov. 7 card headlined by the Fedor Emelianenko-Brett Rogers fight at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates.

The event will be nationally televised on CBS and marks the first time the Russian has fought on broadcast television. Four, possibly five fights, will be televised from the MMA card.

Emelianenko (30-0-1) is considered the top heavyweight and one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in mixed martial arts.

I am...

I don't know what the other fights will be, but if it's anything close to their last event then this one should be awesome.
