^^ And Orlando. I believe he signed an MLE type deal there once his monster contract from the Wiz expired (and then he was packaged with TMAC a year later in the Houston deal).

Another guy with 9-lives, Michael Ruffin. Ruffin has been invited to the Thunder training camp.

Ruffin never had an offensive game, and in his heyday (if you can call it that) with the Wizards he didn't do much other than rebound. He was decent at it for a few years, and while the per-minute numbers are still there he hasn't been able to stay on the court long enough over the past three seasons or so for it to really matter. He's mostly here, much like Etan Thomas, because he played college ball in the state

Thomas actually played HS ball in Oklahoma, at Booker T Washington, Tulsa. Ruffin graduated from Tulsa University.

Honestly, I can see a spot for both Ruffin and Thomas on a team full of young guys with offensive skills in Tulsa. You know Durant and Cook are familiar with both from their Wizards days.

 Juan Dixon linked to the Cavs this time. Love ya JD
The Cavaliers could add another guard to the mix, sources told the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

They have made some calls to remaining free agent options, and the Plain Dealer writes that Cleveland was in the market for another guard prior to Delonte West's recent arrest.

Cleveland is believed to be interested in Chucky Atkins, Juan Dixon, Bobby Jackson, Jerry Stackhouse and Jacque Vaughn.

Hmm...AD is looking for significant minutes. The T-wolves want to get back an expiring contract. Mike James for Daniels redux anyone?

Would they do that? I haven't really followed Daniels much since he left. How's his health? (Not that I think too much about James' health.) Since we've added Foye and Miller, James' outside shooting would be an easy tradeoff for Daniels skills and familiarity, but can't see how he would get much PT here.

Sure but it sets things up nicely for a mid-season Jamison + Daniels for (healthy) Elton Brand swap. Eddie needs a guard who can help teach the system.

Even if the offer was availabe to trade Mike James for Antonio Daniels would it make the team any better? Daniels is more washed up that James. At least James has the slight ability to hit 3 pointers, on occasion. I can't think of one thing Daniels does well right now. That said, I wouldn't want either of these players on the floor for more than 10 minutes this season.

Donnell Taylor catches on with Portland. Will he ever learn to shoot?

I'd love that, Doc.

Question is, if Brand is healthy, why would Philadelphia move him?

Taylor is signed just for camp I suppose. I'd be curious to see if he has progressed any after playing two years in Greece.

Anyone else notice Juan Dixon on the stat-sheet for ATL in pre-season?

I don't think Juan makes the Hawks. If he does he won't play unless Teague and one or two other get injured. Jeff Teague's looked real good in preseason.

Hilarious comment by a Wolves fan re: Pech in the wake of the latest Al Jefferson injury:

Not to worry, ..its the great "Pechman" to the rescue..

The truth will come out that the "All Knowing" Kahn gave up Miller and Foye not to get a 18 yr old Italian who said he likely wouldn't show up in the NBA anytime soon if he was going to end up in Minnesota.But. it was a masterful ploy to wrestle Olesky Pecherov, "The Ukrainian Wonder" from under the nose of the Wizards..Forget the fact that reports had him close to 7'2" and 245 when we got him and he is currently listed in most stat sheets at 7' 235. All T-Wolves seem to shrink a couple of inches upon their arrival anyway. The fact is that Pech is now the horse. He will be all over the court blocking shots, rebounding, and knocking down 3s. Absolutly brilliant Mr. Kahn!!

 (unless Pecherov really does blow up, which would then require me to :banghead: )

Pecherov helps Minnesota over Detroit in preseason
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP)—Oleksiy Pecherov had 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 122-114 preseason victory over the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night.

 I'm sure you'll appreciate the irony Rico.

From the Detroit board after they got "Stewie'd":

SunTzuMachiavelli wrote:Pecherov looks like he fits with that 'underrated' term that gets thrown around so much around here. He was hitting threes and everything. His boards look right too, until you realize he is a seven footer going against maxiell in the post, and then it doesn't seem too surprising. Even with that in mind a shooting center is a nice asset and I wouldn't mind if the pistons had one at all.
