OT- Delonte West arrested on weapons charges

On a more serious note, who would have thought Delonte would get arrested for guns before he got arrested for drugs, that dude most smoke a ton! I always liked delonte though and i hope he gets through all of this unscathed.

The shotgun was in a guitar case, pretty bad ass, like a mixture of mad-max and desperado. Apparently the cop stopped him because he wouldn't turn right.

I think you are spot on that he was watching Desperado before he left his home.

From the police report:

Police also found a Ruger .357 strapped to his leg and a shotgun inside a guitar case that was slung over his back.

Yeah dude guns are hilarious until they kill someone. You're from Brazil, go rent "City of God" and we'll discuss the comedic aspect of potential death. If you want to glamorize Delonte West in a "Mad Max style" that's your prerogative but it's really not funny. This situation is sad because it's obvious this guy has some heavy issues. Was it funny when Maurice Clarette ruined his life? Was it funny when Jayson Williams shot his limo driver with a shotgun? Is it funny when people deteriorate? These people were "stupid enough to ride around with a **** shotgun" and it didn't turn out so funny.

He said his son was looking out for both specific people and because he was generally concerned about his well-being as a high-profile athlete. He declined to say who might be targeting the NBA star

Sounds like two misdemeanors to me, 5 games max. He got off for the shotgun.

On another note, he got pulled over for CUTTING A COP OFF! If I was packing that kind of heat in Largo, MD I would drive perfectly....

Well if suffering from serious depression and taking medication for a bi-polar disorder makes him an idiot then i guess you're right. :roll:

Could of had an episode, the guy has serious issues, it was made public last year. As for the incident, he is probably just gonna get probation/community service or something. He was released without having to pay bail so that says a lot right there.

To all those who got all butt hurt about this get some perspective.... it is pretty **** funny. Stupid- yes. Ok ok.. really really stupid- yes. But harybrd especially get some perspective, he didn't kill anyone. He cooperated with the police. Cutting off a cop with 3 loaded guns? That is some craziness but no one got hurt. Don't go crawling up someone's ass over it because you don't share their sense of humor.
