My gut instinct says he won't stay healthy enough to be worth his contract.

Plus adding a player whose nickname could suggest "landing in an abnormal way that typically causes severe damage" just doesn't sound like a good idea. His nickname might as well be "Gimpy" or "The Gimp."

Its only a 1.5 mil deal for one year.

Just as long as leather and ball gags aren't a part of the new uniforms.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Pretty sure he was refering to Gerald, "Crash" Wallace.

The injuries are a good point. He plays out of control sometimes. Concussions are serious stuff. He has had alteast 4 while with the Bobcats. It's hard to imagine that it won't end his career early.
That is the main reason why I would rather trade for Prince.

To be fair, that post could have also been referring to Sasha "Oops" Pavlovic.

Gerald Wallace, like Emeka Okafor, is one of those players who is generally overrated by people on realgm. Not worth his contract or the headache, imo.

he's a headache in his lack of discipline guarding perimeter shooters and slashing haphazardly, but he's still highly productive so I don't mind his contract. If Bob Johnson is trying to sell the team, getting rid of a Gerald Wallace is probably something they're looking at. Question I'd have is what pull MJ has as he supposedly likes Wallace.

Define 'highly productive'. Does he really help a team win? And he's much more of a headache than that.

he was the best rebounding starting SF and a key cog in a top 10 defense and 6th in PER. Also has a very low turnover rate. I don't know about any behind the scenes problems, you have to share
