Don't worry, Accuscore still give us a 75.6% chance of taking the division.

It might be better for our team for the long-term if we don't make it. It would send at least some message to encourage Illitch to fire Leyland before his contract is up, as well as to encourage DD to stop going for defensive players that can't hit. If we get statistically lucky and make a decent dent in the playoffs then all we will be doing is making a futile run at the WS this year only to encourage them to stick with the same illogical baseball strategies for many more years, and that's the LAST thing I want.

Many future years is always more important than one present year, and the sooner DD/Illitch can learn that their current system is completely flawed, the sooner we can move on to an efficient system of playing baseball with true professionals so long as Illitch is still willing to ante up for new players.

You act like we've had anything close to an actual plan.

2006 we did it with pitching but our hitting/defense failed us. So they went out and got more hitters at the expense of our pitching for the next two years. Then, they go after defense and pitching at the expense of our hitting.

We don't have a system in the slightest. That's why we go from one of the best offenses in the league to one of the worst. It's why our pitching goes from one of the worst in the league to one of the better ones.

I'm convinced that it really has to do with an ineffective mathematical and logical analysis. Otherwise we would be playing Santiago every day in the short term in place of Everett. If they can't figure out that Santiago is a superior baseball player than Everett, then there's no wonder why we can't win games. They don't know how to put us in a position to maximize our odds of scoring/preventing runs. I swear, If I could get DD and Leyland to listen to me for say 2 hour's time and if they were compelled to agree to listen to me and forced to implement my perspective, that's all it would take to turn us from an underachieving monstrosity to a legendary dynasty. They are sooo close to being able to do just that, yet light-years away somehow just on account of some flawed baseball strategy interpretations.

^ I dunno if it's funnier that he thinks he's serious, or the thought of the team he would try to come up with.
