NOH accepts, this gets us below the luxury tax threshold which is very important for my team.

Golden State sends:

Tayshaun Prince ($10,324,380)
Jason Maxiell ($5,000,000)

Total Salary outgoing = $15,324,380 x 1.25 = $19,155,475

for

Rudy Gay ($3,280,997)
Nazr Mohammed ($6,466,600)
Vladimir Radmanovic ($6,466,600)

Total Incoming = $16,214,197

Deal Works

Why? We get another young stud in Gay to add to our core. We had to take on some long term salary and bad contracts, but Mohammed can be a serviceable backup center and Vlad Rad can play spot minutes as a shooter off the bench.

Why? I get a better backup center in Wilcox and clear a slight logjam at PG as well as picking up an extra 1st round pick, which is always useful.

For

We take on a bad contract in Maggette and are reluctant to part with Howard but we like Horford, we feel that learning under Duncan is a unique opportunity for him. We have no bench, and two starting SG’s but we will figure it out later on.

FWIW - If any GM makes a trade with a team that they notice has a non updated roster it would be helpful to make sure they get it done straight away if you want the trade to be approved in a timely manner.

I am confuse. So Acie Law can not be signed for the minimum? I have enough cap space to absorb his previous salary and i wouldn't mind paying it this year but next year i want him for the minimum.

In previous games, the rule has been that if you claim a waived guy, you need to claim his contract so if that is true, you need to claim his entire contract.

Yep, spot on. Come one Vege, you've played this game before, you should know the rules.

you could claim him for this season and not pick up his option for next year and try to get him back during FAgnecy.

Actually, looking through the thread.. It looks like his option didn't get picked up. Wouldn't that make him free to sign for whatever? (I had originally thought that he was just waived after the TO was picked up)

It all comes down to when his option got picked up in RL. I have searched a bit to try and find out if it was picked up before we started this game but have had no luck so far.

If before then he is owed in full for the year.

If after then he can be signed for what vege offered.

The main thing is his team option was declined so i though he was a free agent. But whatever. If r0cd0gg decides i can sign him for 2 years min salary i will sign him if not i won't. As soon as you guys have a final answer let me know.

And come on dude you know i am a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) right? so you shouldn't be surprised

The Los Angeles Lakers and Detriot Pistons have agreed on a small but effective trade for both team.

Lakers Outgoing:

Ronny Turiaf $4,140,000
- 2010 second round draft pick (Lakers)
- 2011 second round draft pick (Lakers)

Detroit Outgoing:

Antonio McDyess $4,500,000

Why?
We are in win now mode, and while turiaf is a solid shot blocker and rebounder we just feel that Antonio is a better fit on our bench. We loves turiaf's hustle and wished the lakers never let him go in RL, but this deal is too good in my mind to turn down. Good luck in the big D turiaf. The picks will most likely be at the VERY end of the draft, so they dont really mean anything to a team competeing for the championship. I have a few more moves comming hopefully so stay tuned.

Allen Iverson ($5,800,000) TOTAL= $10,800,000 x 1.2+100,000 = 13,060,000

this was a difficult dicission to make but we wanted more finacial flexability which this deal brings. We believe Diddy will have a bounce back year, but we like the toughness and steady improving play that Ray brings, plus teaming up with Sessions who both can play on or off the ball is nice. AI we are not 100% sure what role he will have, but have always been a big fan and actually tried very hard to get him to sign in Orlando during free agency

Sorry for the wait, I missed it earlier.

And even as a (Please Use More Appropriate Word), you are right here. TMAC worded how he was letting Law go oddly. He chose not to pick up his Team Option, so I believe that makes him an UFA- meaning he can sign with any team for any amount. Signing him for the minimum should be fair game.

Thing is all options would have already been picked up if player is already on the roster as the season was already underway in this game when that went down. He could have waived the option to pick him up next year NTIM.

What it comes down to is TMAC can't wipe that contract off the roster until the season is over and I already sent him an email stating as much.

as for him signing to a new team and what he will get...

I still am mulling over the best course of action for this signing as well as future situations.

If a team picks a player off waivers for the remainder of the owed money and then have the old team get a credit?

:dontknow:

Hmm, maybe I didn't fully understand the process. Acie Law has a team option for the 2010 - 2011 season, I knew fully well he'd count against my cap for 2009-2010, but mentioned "declining his team option," to more emphasize that he hopefully wouldn't count against my cap for any season past 09-10.

So under that circumstance, wouldn't a team, in this case the Clippers have to pick up his current contract of 2.1 million, while he'd be able to re-sign him, but it'd be through FA, so every team would have a chance at him? In this game in the past at least, don't think we've ever had a player clear waivers, considering the players that get waived are normally on minimum contracts, or expiring. Rarely do big contracts get waived, because in this game, almost every contract can be moved, lol.
