We might have discovered this years Eddie Royal. Knox came up big today. Way to force your way onto the field Johnny
Big ups to Kellen Davis
Defense bended but made the plays when necessary
Hillenmeyer was very solid

We got a W!!! against the SB Champs..Bear Down!!

As bad as this may sound. Aromashodu getting injured probably was a blessing in disguise. Johnny Knox looks like the #1 WR on the team

I don't think the Bears played well at all today and thought they could play much better but we still grabbed a win. Johnny Knox, Jay Cutler, Alex Brown, and Robbie Gould are all the bright spots today.

What a steal Johnny Knox is. My goodness.

When Cutler went on that hot streak early in the 2nd half, there wasn't a single time when I actually feared a turnover. When he's in the zone, he makes the most solid passes you can imagine. He, Knox and Hester will be interesting to see this season.

This further proves that the game against the Packers was jitters. At least, that's how I've chosen to see it.

I think he was just uncomfortable facing the 3-4. Now he experince it twice he should be fine

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Good:

Johnny Knox
Kellen Davis
Cutler being mistake free
Hillenmayer was pretty good
Jeff Reed

Bad:
Offensive line, Matt Forte kind of goes with this
3rd down defense

1-1, a needed win

I'd put Greg Olsen in the bad column as well. Thank goodness he got on that Forte fumble but he was rather unimpressive today with a couple of bad drops. Did have that nice play downfield though.

Olsen was average IMO. He was lit up on the one drop. He's not strong enough to shake that off. If that was Clark or Davis that's probably a catch. He's basically like a glorified WR playing TE.

I'm accustomed to late round defensive gems from Jerry Angelo. I love me some Johnny Knox!

Yeah I'm a little worried too. Brad Biggs and Jeff Dickerson said it didn't look good.

Lovie said sprained ankle during the press conference, and Zach Zaidman during the game said he was putting weight on both ankles on the sideline.

Soldier Field is a tough place to kick. Especially with the crappy weather.

Gould's kicked here before in crap weather and when they've resodded so he knows how it is. Also just gotta add that Robbie definitely earns being the highest paid kicker. Don't know where we would be if we still had Edinger kicking the ball  (Though Edinger had the most badass stance for a kicker ever)

Heinz Field also sucks, but for us its a good thing Reed has never kicked here before.

Good win.

Cutler and WRs were more in sync and it showed. Knox has some very good hands and a #1 WR approach to the game. He is not afraid to mix it up and can take a hit. We have something special with him.

The offense line play has been very subpar. The run blocking has been terrible from day one of training camp. We need to change some starters on the offensive side of the ball. Beekman should replace Frank and maybe in run play situations, I would like to see what Gaines has as a blocker from the TE position. We need a lot of help in that area.

The defense performed well, but gave up too many yards in the last drive where the Steelers converted too many third downs. We applied some pressure on Big Ben, but it was not consistent. We are still allowing a lot of time for the QB to make plays in critical situations. Our blitz packages were not very effective. We need to make better adjustments in general during the course of the game to counter what the other team is doing.

We can be a much better team with some tweaking. I heard on the Score 67 radio that the Bears received some coaching assistance from Mike Shanahan on a some offense plays. I would not mind if he took on a more expanded role than consulting offensively considering his familiarity with Cutler .... and how well Denver performed offensively while he was the coach.

All in all, we played well enough to win (with some help from #3 of the Steelers) so you always feel good and positive going into the next game. We did some things well and we need some improvement in other areas. Let's keep building from this point.
A plea for post scoring is a plausible Bulls plan, but plainly isn't a priority. In response to a post player's dismay about his lack of points in the paint, Paxson said.... "I'm not nearly as concerned about the offensive stuff as he is."
