Acie mos def won't count against your 2010/11 cap space.

but

He should be listed on your roster as some form of money hit for this season. That is what I am contemplating. How much % a waived player will count against the old team v the new team if said player has a guaranteed contract for this 09/10 season. Law falls into this group.

you should set a date like really soon for teams to either pickup or decline rookie 2010/2011 options.

since the season already started, I would say the team that waived Law should take the cap hit, unless the player is waived. If someone has the cap space to sign the player to the contract he was waived from, the new team would be assuming his exact contract. since the option was declined, it would simply be a 1 year contract and the new team would only be picking him up for the current season. Next year would be just like signing an extension. t least that is how I understand the rule

this season its a 2.1 mill cap hit againast BOTH of them

next season none against TMac or whoever it was that picked him up

Then law becomes a Unrestricted free agent for everyone to wager on since his option was declined.

I still want a final word on this subject. If what happens is what Mascot described i have no intention in sign Law. If i can pick him for $2,216,160 (this year salary) and next year the minimum unguaranteed them i would sign him.

If next season he is a UFA no point for anyone to sign him this season but if that's how it works that's fine by me. I just want a final word about it to know if the player is on my roster or not and how much money i owe him this season.

When i sent him an offer my idea was that a player waived (and with his option declined) could be signed by anyone who send him an offer as a ufa this season.

Next year Acie WILL be FA so...

The more time I have had to contemplate this...

We will keep the old rule as it makes things less complicated and is still fair.

FWIW - Players that have TOs don't have to be decided on until 1 week is left in the season.

I will start a new thread soon for 2010 free agency and list all FAs including status. Any player that has his TO waived will be UFA and added to that list.

I think that TOs for rookie-scale contracts have to be decided before the season, so maybe you should send out emails to teams with rookie-scale contracts asking them if they'd like to pick up their option for next year, like skorf did last game. This would happen before the season "starts".

are you sure about this? I am pretty sure teams need to make a choice very early on in the season, or before the seaon starts

09/10 has already been decided, so all we have to worry about is TOs for 10/11 and they will obviously be done before a season that will never start in this game so...

So should i remove Acie Law from my roster? I just want to be 100% sure, if yes it's no problem for me.

If you want to pay him the full amount for him this season and see him become UFA for 10/11 then keep him, if not...

If the team invokes both options (keeping the player for all four seasons) then the player becomes a restricted free agents following his fourth season (see question number 36 for more information on restricted free agency). If the team declines either option, then the player enters free agency as an unrestricted free agent.

I am not going to worry about going by the letter of the law so to speak. We need to have some leeway since players get traded way more in this game than RL. We should use some rules as is and other rules should be pliable/moldable to better fit what we are doing.

As long as TOs are decided a couple of weeks before FA hits is all that really matters IMO.

Orlando waives Anthony Johnson (eating his 2,062,000 salary) to do this trade

Orlando, Golden State and dallas have agreed to a trade

GS out:
Nazr (6,466,600)
Nocioni (7,500,000)
Marrow (736,420)
Buckner (4,080,916)
George (1,600,000)
Mbenga (959,111)
2011 Lakers 2nd TOTAL=21,343,047

GS in:
Jaric (7,100,000)
Crawford (10,080,000)
Sam Young (824,200)
Warrick (3,000,000) TOTAL=21,004,200

Orlando out:
Young (824,200)
Warrick (3,000,000) TOTAL= 3,824,200

Orlando in:
Marrow (736,420)
George (1,600,000)
Mbenga (959,111)
2011 Lakers 2nd,
2011 Sac 2nd TOTAL=3,295,531

Dallas out:
Jaric (7,100,000)
Crawford (10,080,000)
2011 Sac 2nd TOTAL=17,180,000

Dallas in :
Nazr (6,466,600)
Nocioni (7,500,000)
Buckner (4,080,916) TOTAL=18,047,516

Orlando really likes Marrow and felt we needed to add a shooter off the bench. With all of our bigs, Warrick (who we were not sure we would be able to resign) was expendable. We also added a young defensive Sf that we were high on, but Marrow is worth it in our mind, plus we add 2 future 2nds.

Dallas accepts mainly to the fact that i cut some money in this trade with Buckner's contract. But also get rid of Jaric's awful contract. Crawford was like here but was replaced by Richardson so he wouldn't like the minutes he woulda received. Also get another center to add to my lineup i only had two and i add another who could be of some service to me. Nocioni will help alot a tough player who will back up Marion and allow Tmac to move to his natural position, but since he is injured he will still backup JRich.

For

Al Horford $4,307,640
Richard Hamilton - $11,375,000
Corey Maggette - $8,937,931

We take on a bad contract in Maggette and are reluctant to part with Howard but we like Horford, we feel that learning under Duncan is a unique opportunity for him. We have no bench, and two starting SG’s but we will figure it out later on.

Golden State accepts. We like Morrow, but we were able to move a lot of dead weight and get two contributing players in Crawford and Warrick that can be our 6th and 7th men off the bench. Jaric sucks, but his contract expires in '11, giving us enough room to offer a max contract to some of the big names in the summer of 2011.

Now the Lakers and Heat have agreed to a trade. (not blockbuster, but not small)

Lakers out:

Rashard Lewis $18,010,791
Shannon Brown $1,990,000
Matt Barnes $1,600,000
2010 second round pick via New York Knicks
Total Salaries : 21,600,791

Heat out:

Tayshaun Prince $10,324,380
Jason Maxiell $5,000,000
James Jones $4,330,000
2011 Miami First round pick
Total Salaries: 19,654,380

Deal works with 125% rule.

Why? we get a valuable bench player who will probably be moved in Prince, and a solid 4 and 3 on the bench. We also get miami's first in 2011 which has the potential to be that last pick in the draft or the on the early ones. Only time will tell. Also, we get out of Rashards massive deal, and sabe about 2 million which is really 4 million when you have as much salary as i do, which is crucial. We hate losing brown, one of our fav. players, but we had to, to get this deal done. Good dealing with you miami, and good luck in the future man. I also want to say that i have email confirmation (proof) on the Detroit, Lakers (Turiaf and Deyss) deal i posted earlier, and on this deal i just posted, Both these guys informed me that they will accept when they get the chance too, which all i can do it wait. (there both busy) Both of them know they accepted and agreed to these deals, so dont try no funny games LOL

Accept, we will miss Tayshaun's capability of defending, but Shard is my fav player right now next to VC, and we still get a stud defender who can defend the other team in Matt Barnes, we also get a nice guy off the bench in Shannon Brown and get a 2010 2nd, in which we see a nice landing spot for a draft steal.
