Who else thinks alando tucker should get some more playing time this year off the bench? He could help our team. What do you think?

He should definately get more playing time but his positions, both SF and SG can already be played by Hill, J-Rich, Barbosa, Clark and Dudley. I know he could probably put up decent stats if given the minutes though.

He'd make for a decent shooting guard. But obviously the coaches find something wrong with his game because players like Dudley and Amundson got playing time and proved to be useful and Tucker hasn't proved anything to the coaches.

His jumpshot is more like a slingshot. It has no arch and the coaching staff has indicated that it may not improve. He is/was a great scorer, but that's something we have in surplus already. I also dont think his bball IQ is too high on the defensive side of things. I feel bad for him since the suns selected him. He would be thriving in Memphis, Philly, or OKC right about now.

You thought correctly. His D is turrrible, I haven't seen him make one stop in his whole career honestly.

I was a huge proponent of Alando getting minutes last season, but I quickly tired of his game. Any minute that goes to Alando this season is a minute that should have gone to Earl.

Bring from Iowa, and going to the University of Iowa, I saw Tucker play and he was an undersized PF at Wisconsin. The transition to the NBA is tough by itself, let alone when you go from a 4 to a 2 or 3. I thought he was over rated as a College player of the year and frankly don't see him doing anything with us, and little with any other team.

BTW, long time lurker, first time posting. Heh..

Alando should seriously consider becoming a PG.

I remember when he was drafted some were comparing him to Josh Howard. Tucker has a pretty terrible jumper but he's great at posting up smaller guards down on the block. If given some burn, he could turn out to be a pretty decent 9th or 10th man.

Alando will never fit here.....was a Pf. before he came into the league.....Wow, no wonder he looks so lost. The best part of his game is post ofense, but at 6"6 205lbs who the hell is he going to consistently post up. It would be diffrent if he was that small and bullish strong or wildly athletic like Barron Davis, or Azubuike, but he isnt. He cant play defense on guards (cant stay with them), and he is too small to play defense on sall forwards. At 205 lbs he aint going to post up too many NBA Sg.'s or Sf.'s, and he isnt a lights our shooter either. So where dose he fit, he is a 3rd string Sg. ( 4th if we want to go big and put Grant Hill there for a bigger line-up) and at Sf. he is 4th string behind Grant, Dudly, and clark and hell id prefer the athletisisim and tenacity of taylor Griffin over him. We should give him a chance somewhere else, cut or trade him.

Agreed with all the stuff before. I also agree that Griff is a better fit than Tucker. Like Tucker, neither have the handles, drive nor shot to be a guard or a small 3 nor do they have the size to play the PF. However where Tucker doesn't have the size to guard the 2 or the 3, Griff looks like he's built like a tank and could possibly be strong enough to guard the big 2 and 3's. If Griff can give us some hustle and energy while playing some defense, he'd be alright.

Oh and I've always liked what DJ gave us in energy, hustle and defense. I think that if it wasn't for the contract differences we would've kept DJ over Tucker.
