Big Al: All Star?

Post#1 » by TrueBlueMN » Tue Sep 22, 2009 12:24 am

http://dunkingwithwolves.com/2009/09/21 ... -the-year/

I would say he even has a chance to start at the Center position. What do you guys think?

Big Al’s main competition for the spot: Andrew Bynum, Mehmet Okur, Andris Biedrins and Emeka Okafor. All of which out-voted Jefferson last season.

PS Big Al was listed as a C on the ballot last year, which is why center is the position in this discussion.

We had this same thread a month or 2 ago.

All Star? Doubtful, it is a popularity contest.
All NBA? Maybe, depends on how he returns from injury.

*I am guessing Amare will be listed as a center. Amare is Amare, I am sure he wants a chance at an all nba team.

He won't be a starter, but there's at least a decent chance that the coaches will vote him in as a backup.

He will deserve it but I think I record will screw him. Last year we were playing well and he didn't get in, how many teams with one of the worst records in the league get a player in?

His chances are definitely better, Shaq in East, Yao "done" and especially if Al can bounce back and play his game, if not a starter, then a backup for sure to Amare

But then again the fans vote and we all know what happens there....

I forgot about Yao. That really helps. They may list Duncan and Amare at C though.

Don't think he'll make it this year. I think 2010-11 will be his year.

Howard is a better rebounder, shot blocker, defensive player and anchor, and gets to the line more.

Al Jefferson is a better one on one scorer.

If Duncan is listed at C, then I think Al is the 3rd center taken. I think he'll be a coaches choice this year (again, assuming he's healthy). JMO, but 20/10/2 is where it's at.

they usually take only 2 centers put if the coaches should select him I think he'd be a tweener between both positions.

either way, if he doesn't get in I don't see any problems unless there's another major snub like last year. if there's some worthy of being selected I couldn't care less.
