Not all that surprising. Things were really dragging on, and the Bobcats have seemed reluctant to extend contract obligations any more. Best for Felton to get back on the court and start playing.

Unless he has some ridiculous year next year, I bet he doesn't get anything more than the MLE next summer.

I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing for the Bobcats, Felton will want to come to play and earn that big extension. If Felton improves heaps then the Bobcats may consider him a building block, and would have numerous ECs in the 2010 off season (Chandler, Vlad, Mohammed) and a young prospect (Augustin) to surround Felton, Crash and Diaw with some serious talent.

^^^^

I think there 0 chance he stays in Charlotte. Maybe he'll only get the MLE but he'll get it from a relevant team that needs a solid PG that can start or come off the bench.

Charlotte is a ridiculous franchise. What are they doing? They dont seem to have any interest in being a team.

Trust me LA weill go after him hard next summer. To build on their young core and have him and BYnum as their future they woulda doenit this summer but they no MLE. So they'll wait till next summer you heard it here first. Tab it if you want.

P.S. Not a Lakers fan just pure speculation.

I highly doubt that. They were close to letting Odom walk.

After they draft John Wall, I could see the Wolves making a run at Felton.

PHX will pick up Wall's younger bro in the 2nd round.
