Yeah, he really out performed him in these categories. And I'm sure all the new muscle Randolph has added since then wouldn't help him either.

Max Vert
Randolph 35'
Beasley 35'

Max Vert Reach
Randolph 12'
Beasley 11'10

The Sprint
Randolph 3.26
Beasley 3.26

Body fat percent
Randolph 4.7
Beasley 7.7

As Dresta said, you now have a ton of credibility.

First you pick and choose which tests to bring up, then you don't even get your numbers right. Beasley beat AR in nearly every test.

He said that Beasley beat AR on ALL the physical tests. Oaktownwarriors87 simply pulled up some tests that Beasley didn't beat AR on.

Give 'em a break, he beat him in all physical tests except 1 (in which he tied).

Exactly, he did, body fat % doesn't matter as its not really comparable.

Who cares about physical tests. If you judged talent by that, then Pietrus would be a top tier player and Steve Nash sucks. Thabo Sefaloosha would be a perennial all-star, and Larry Bird would never have made the NBA.

Its completely irrelevant when it comes to hoops prowess and who will be the better player long term...

Its fun having this discussion. Sure as **** if AR doesn't turn into the player we think he'll be, we all look like fools...

Over it for now...until I look at the thread again in a few hours. HA>

PS: this thread is great for killing time. I appreciate all the folks arguing. Right on.

I only referred to those stats due to certain people saying Beasley is slow footed and that AR is much more athletic them him. I wouldn't have brought them up otherwise.

Exactly, he said all. And the guy next to Beasley ran a 3.26, that's why they were mixed up.. either way it's a .02 second difference on a test that doesn't really mean anything in the first place. I also didn't say those were all of them, they were the close ones. He made it seem as if he blew him away, which was not true.

Nice try on "discrediting me".

Rose is the best player from that class, hands down. I love Derrick Rose. My big board going into that draft was 1) Derrick Rose and 2) Anthony Randolph.

The discussion is still going on, but one thing that still hasn't changed is Randolph is a much better all around player than Beasley. The Heat fans can argue that all day, but deep down they know it's true.

From an interview with the Warriors General Manager:

Cohn: I assume Randolph will be your 4 this year.

Riley: That would be a correct assumption in my discussions with Nellie.

Either way, the proof will be in the pudding this coming season. Randolph has earned the starting PF spot to start the season, and now we'll be able to see how he does in starter's minutes.

You know they are going to complain if he doesn't get 20/10.

Well, I think it's time to end the argument and everyone should put predictions out on what they think the players will do next season. Not saying next season is where it ends, but you get the point.

PREDICTION TIME! Use the same format I did.

Randolph
MPG 33.4
PPG 15.8
RPG 8.7
APG 2.3
SPG 1.2
BPG 1.5
FG% 475
3P% 200
FT% 768
TO 2.1

Beasley
MPG 34.2
PPG 17.8
RPG 7.0
APG 1.8
SPG 0.8
BPG 0.7
FG% 478
3P% 378
FT% 789
TO 2.1

My two big quetions
How will Beasley do after the hard summer?
Will Randolph stay out of the Nelly dog House?

I can generalize the Heat Fans and say that they though Beasley was going to be a 32/10 type player... but I'm not an ass.

every single Heat fan will tell you that he performed below expectations, i bit had to do with him..and a bit had to do with Spoelstra ..he would put him on the bench for a bad rotation defensively, and never put him back in..his minutes were too random...with that said he had a better season than Randolph. He was the 2nd best scorer on a playoff team..Randolph was an energy player off the bench..playing less than 20 minutes a game on a team 30 games under .500.

And i like Randolph, he could easily put up 13-9 or something like that if he gets starter minutes...on the Heats side all news are good lately about how Beasley is looking, Beasley is breaking out this season..

Morrow has never been "pimped out".. Unless very good role player is far fetched.

Ellis is still a borderline All-Star talent, no one ever "pimped" him excessively.

Wright was thought to gave potential when we drafted him, but everyone could see hi body was a long way from ready.

Like I said, you pull crap out of your butt and you can't back it up.

AND HOW ABOUT SOME PREDICTIONS, LETS SEE WHAT YOU GUYS THINK THESE PLAYERS WILL DO... DON'T BE SCARED

I'd say at this point according to the numbers, Randolph by a landslide.

I already responded to Wade about the players we supposedly pimped out. It's no use.

I been here 4-5 years longer then you have, I've seen a lot of the hype threads on the comparison board about Ellis/Wright. Unless you're a previously banned poster you wouldn't know half the threads I'm talking about. And I'd post the links to them if the search feature went back further then a year.

5strong is his new account and he wasn't banned, he has actually been around for a long time...

You're still full of crap, Morrow hasn't even been a Warrior for a year and wright has two under his belt. Also, last off-season was the peak of the Ellis hype... shouldn't be hard to find the "pimping" comments.

It was pretty hard to find because there were almost no GS threads (strange, I thought we covered the board in homer threads) but here is a Mont Ellis thread from March 2008 (the peak of the Ellis hype)

viewtopic.php?f=64&t=772220&start=60

Like i said, you're just making stuff up.

How about this one, and the one's being homers are the non Warriors fans...

viewtopic.php?f=64&t=773949

This is YOU talking about Ellis... You're numbers are right on with the rest of the Warriors fans. Remember that Monta already averaged 22.8/5.8/4.6/ with 1.9 steals shooting 53% the last half of that season.

Wade2k6 wrote:I could realistically see him putting up 23-24 ppg, 5-6 apg- 3-4 rpg. That's still a great statline.

And look what an injured Ellis did last season after the all-star break.

PPG 23.5
FG% 48.4
FT% 86.2
RPG 4.6
APG 4.7
SPG 1.9

Just face it, we are like any other fan base.

Dude, I'm not going to sit here and argue with you about whether GS fans overrate their players heavily. As a whole they are one of the 3 biggest homer fanbases on this site. I would go back and search for ridiculous threads but the forum only allows you to go back 1 year.

And BTW, the Monta Ellis hype was 2 summers ago and last summer after he put up 19-4.5-3.5. I would go back and search for threads from the last 2 summers but as I said the search function only goes back 1 year and I can't search threads from last summer.
