What's kinda sad/funny is that in "new jersey" thread the other day I was talking about how everyone on their PR team should be fired because they're handling that and the Brooklyn situation so horribly. I think I'll keep that opinion to myself when I talk to him lol.

Apparently the exterior design of the Barclays has been released:

http://atlanticyardsreport.blogspot.com/

Note these are obviously not quality photos. They look like they've been squished a little. I personally like it, but I won't "LIKE" it until I see an actual model. Also my monitor at work sucks so that may be why the pictures look so altered to me.

I dont like the new pics. I prefer the hanger to tell you the truth. What is up with the basketball color?

I don't know I'm feeling it for the most part. The renderings with the lights on look sick.

I think when we see a model not just pictures, we'll get a better feel for the exterior. I think I will like it more when I see that. I do like the amount of light emitting from it and stuff though. Kind of makes you feel like it's on big trucker hat with a stadium underneath. The specific architect is very well known and thinks very outside the box in terms of design and textures just like Gehry. He's just not the "it" architect that Gehry is.

I really like the look of the arena now. I still prefer Gehry's design but this is still 100000000000x better than the hangar idea. Please pleasepleasepleaseplease go through haha I'm sick of the waiting and prolonging of this project. The courts better just put an end to this when they meet this month because the stalling is just getting ridiculous by the critics.

I saw this on the New York Times today. I think I read they put some of Gehry's influence back into the project.

^^^ Yeah I agree. seriously, I know the new chief designer loosely (took me a while to realize...He's a friend of my uncles and I do mean I barely know him personally but I'm a dork for architecture and art thanks to certain family ties). I've always loved this guys work and he seriously pushes the envelope just like Gehry. He's just not the the "trendy name" architect of the moment. I promise you this place will look incredible in reality. This place emits more light than Gehry's project and without the "potential security breach" in his design.Still, I need to see a "real model" but the more I see this, the more I like it. The angle Rich posted is by far the best though.

Is it me or is the building a photoshop? All the other models on this angle has the buidlings behind the arean. Either way, I like it. I think this arena will look really cook in person.

It kind of looks like a foreman grill.

The building next to the arena model is a photoshop. It's just showing you where the original building was in Gehry's design. I couldn't find a photo of the model without that cheap-ass photoshop. But it gives you an idea of where the old design was and what the new one looks like.

Honestly I think if the Islanders lighthouse project doesn't work-out, that Charles Wang will put his Lighthouse design behind the Barclays Center and combine the two projects with each other. Honestly though, I just don't see Barclays Center happening. I'm just hoping they do the right thing and sell it to an investor who wants to move the team to Newark, NJ if they can't move to Brooklyn, NY.

Check out Netsdaily. The Russian dude bought the team...well 80% of the Nets, 45% of the Barclay Center and can purchase up to 20% of the Atlantic Yards.

Our finances are straight. I'm 99.9% positive we'll break ground within 90 days.

I didn't read the article, but Jay Z was a 10% owner, I wonder if he still is or if he sold his stake?
