Optimistic for the first time this offseason

Raja Bell is on the block and that is the way it should be. I want the Bobcats to get a good player for him I just hope it's not to a contending team.

I think the since they are going after a pf I believe the most likely possibilites are

1.Cavs for J.J. Hickson
2.Warriors for Brandon Wright
3.Somebody who is willing to take Nazi's contract also.

I was all about getting Cants but since that is over with I am looking at Murray in an optimistic way.
Why did he choose the Bobcats over the Nuggets? I believe it was because he was told he would have a very good chance at a starting job with fulltime minutes.

I don't know who here remembers Flip Murray on the Sonics when he took over for Ray Allen in his second year and was averaging over 20 points a game.

My guess is Larry Brown thinks he can go back to that and so does he.

If I am right and the Bobcats do actually get a decent pf and Murray plays like he did in his 2nd year (per minute he has been on track to be almost a 20 point a game scorer) instead of the Bobcats getting much much worse it's not to late for them to have improved this year with the additions of Murray, Henderson and possibly a new pf for Bell.

Finding a suitor for Bell should be very easy.
They turned J-Rich into Diaw and Bell and if they can turn Bell into a young pf who can improve on the Cats with minutes and shots and Murray reaches the potential he has had all along the Bobcats could make the 8th seed.

For arguements sake let's say they get Wright

Chandler-Diop
Diaw-Wright
Wallace-Radman
Murray-Henderson
Felton-D.J.

There is no allstars on the team or go to player but they are 10 players deep. They would basically have 10 starters.
On a Larry Brown team with defensive first that could work as a winning formula espially since they are trying to sell the team and it's a cheap team to.

The playoffs would be contingent on a good trade and Murray going back to his 2nd year form but Murray is 29 years old and I truely believe this is the team were he can get back to that.
On Seattle he proved everything, that he can carry a team and even one of the nicest game winning buzzer beating shot over Spree.

Dexmor, I am agreeable to a GOOD trade for Bell, but I'm not sure we'lll be able to get the value we need. Flip could be a starter but I wonder if he's still a better option off the bench. Bell leaving would create another weakness with only having a rookie behind Murray. Perhaps we could get a PF and SG in the deal. Again, I doubt Golden State would send us Wright and Azubuike for Bell, but that's my dream deal. Az could start, w/Murray off the bench, or vice versa. Again, I doubt that happens without giving up a future pick, but it might be worth it.

Crazy, but what about Stephen Jackson and Brandon Wright for Bell and Diop (or Nazr)? I know a lot of people think that would be a disaster but Jackson would be a force on this team at the 2. Wright would give us a solid young player who could continue to improve at the 4.

I'd still much prefer Azubuike and Wright for Bell.

You are way overrating Bell if you think he's worth Wright and Az.

Yeah im interested to see how this turns out. If we do trade him, wonder who we will get. When i first heard about it i thought they would trade for a starting SG to replace his spot. But what you guys are saying makes sense. That Flip Murray could be starting at SG and then Bobcats trade Bell for a backup PF.

But i don't know who would be a good option for us

This team seems so stupid.

I don't exactly like Bell, but if you are pushing for the playoffs, why trade him? Or at least, why trade him now? Why not wait a couple of months and see how the team is doing, and if we aren't doing too well, then trade him?

If we were going to trade him, why didn't we go after Iverson? Because we needed to save a spot for Flip Murray?

What the hell is this stupid team doing...

Flip Murray is a ROLE player, and can accept that, Iverson cannot. And if you call the Bobcats stupid for not signing AI, then you're pretty much calling the entire league stupid because Iverson just signed for chump change. Most likely because he's a chump.

This would be my dream deal also. I am very high on Azubukie. He can shoot, score, he's rugged and he can play the two or the three. Wright's not exactly a banger, and its clear that he's never going to be the potential star he was billed as coming into the draft but he would solve our backup 4 problem.

Having said all of this though, I dont think we have the assets to get this deal done. If GS shot down Bell for Bukie/Belinilli this summer, I certainly dont see them accepting this same offering in return for bukie/wright.

A protected draft pick would probably sweeten the pot but we have none to offer. I suppose we could try to throw in Ajinca as a promising prospect to make the proposal more enticing but, for the most part, all of the other players we'd be willing to part with in such a deal have poison pill contracts that nobody wants to touch.

It's not incompatible. I don't especially like Bell, but I realize that this team, as currently constructed, most likely needs him if they expect to make the playoffs. He was key to this team's success.

Not really. Just because Iverson is not a good fit for a lot of other teams, doesn't mean he wouldn't be a good fit for us. On a veteran team that is trying to win a championship and has its backcourt set, I can see why they wouldn't want to take a chance on Iverson. On the other hand, we could use a superstar, we could use a legit scoring threat, we could use his versatility in the backcourt, we could have paired him alongside with Bell if we had defensive problems on any given night, and we have a coach that has "handled" Iverson before.

First off, Allen Iverson WAS a superstar, not is and that was not recently despite his 26ppg in Denver two seasons ago.

Secondly and really lastly, Iverson is not a good fit here, because if he was, he would have been signed instead of FLIP freaking MURRAY!!! You know why I know this? Because the one person in this league who knows him the best, said thanks but no thanks.
