How about Boozer for G Wallace & R Bell

Post#1 » by mgraphix » Sat Sep 26, 2009 9:18 pm

I know variations of this have been posted before but I kind of like it.
Not sure Charlotte would go for it either but I do like the concept.

Potential Line up,
PG - Williams, Price, Maynor
SG - Brewer, Korver or Bell
SF - Wallace, AK, Miles
PF - Milsap or AK, Suton
C - Okur, Koufos, Fez, Suton

It doesn't help NY so our pick is unaffected.
Gives AK more time at the PF and a lot of flexibility for lineups in the back court.
Most of all I like the idea of getting something for Boozer before he walks and rid of any bed chemistry potential. Yes we are a bit light in front court, but maybe we'll get lucky and be able to draft a good one with NY's pick next year. There's always free agency to find a back up PF as well.

Discuss. ;-)

i actually just logged in to talk about trading for raja. I dont think we need wallace or the need to give up boozer but getting raja makes to much sense for me. Charlotte has four guards they like(henderson, augustine, felton and flip murray) and imho I think raja would be our 3rd best guard and play the end of each half. But these deals make to much sense to happen. If they wanted CJ or a protected 1st down the road.....give it to them.

Hell no to Raja. Raja is old, expiring, and overrated IMO. Also Sloan has a mancrush on him. He'd play 30 minutes a night, letting every SG light us up for 30, just like when he was with us 5 years ago. I'd rather have Brewer, Korver or CJ out there.

How many All-NBA Defensive Teams does this guy have to make before this myth is dispelled?

You do know that we are talking about Raja Bell right? I perimeter D got considerably worse after he left. I'd love to have Raja back for cheap, but I would've give up CJ and there is NO WAY I would give up a 1st round pick!!! Thats insane! A first round pick for a guy who is easily on the downside of his career. No way. Maybe a second rounder.

I think that with little tweaking, ie picks, this would be good for both teams. I love it. With Wallace, Bell, and AK at PF our defense should improve greatly.

I don't see Jazz brass going after Raja Bell.
If they actually want to go after a perimeter player right now (a thing I really doubt at this very moment) I think it's more probable that they look for an Antonio Daniels sort of guy (veteran guard, care of the ball, good tough defender, can contibute on offense... kind of Fisher role...) to take pressure out off Williams hands a little bit...
Jazz wing spots features Brewer, Korver, Miles, Kirilenko... doesn't seem a primary concern at this moment... may be later if the Jazz think Miles and Brewer did not bettered themselves at all... not right now.

I think that was actually after Tag left and AK stopped being a shotblocking threat. I'm not saying I hate Raja. I'd love to have him if we were contending. Since we're likely not, I don't see the point of trading for him. He's 33, he's got 1 year left on his contract and although a good shooter and defender, I don't see him as much of an improvement over Brewer, CJ or Korver, who are all younger and might be a part of this team for more than just 1 year.

Not a chance, why add players at our deepest two positions and get smaller?

I like the trade trade of Wallace and Bell for Boozer, it really works out for Charlotte. I also got a trade from toronto, this would only happen if the teams roster changes weren't working out and bosh wanted to leave, it also has to wait until Dec. 15.

Trade ID #5247265

Utah Gets
PF/C Chris Bosh
SF/PF Hedo Turkoglu
C Rasho Nesterovic
PG Marcus Banks or PF/SF Amir Johnson

Toronto Recieves
PF Carlos Boozer
C/PF Mehmet Okur
PF/SF Andrei Kirilenko

Utah Starting 5
C Bosh
PF Milsap
SF Turkoglu
SG Brewer
PG Deron Williams

Bosh put on a reported 15 lbs in the offseason, he's played center in the past and wants to play for a winner. Turkoglu is a great shooter and playmaker which will offset the perimeter scoring of Okur. Nesterovic is a serviceable center and we take Kirilenkos big contract off your hands
Toronto Starting 5

C Okur/Bargnani
PF Boozer
SF Kirilenko
SG Derozen
PG Calderon

Boozer hopefully is happy in Toronto with the start if not, Okur and Bargnani can play the PF and Center positions if he walks.

That can't happen for months. But it shouldn't unless the team crashes and burns. Then getting the other teams on board...

Can someone please make this trade happen!

Miles / Boozer for Bell / Wallace

Bobcats add a proven 20/10 guy and young guy in Miles and also reduce their future payroll.

Bring back Raja for a year, he shoots .381 from the 3 for his career (same as Okur) and atleast has a rep for playing D. I am guessing all Jazz fans would love to watch Gerald Wallace play in a Jazz uniform.

It doesnt save any dollars this year ,though if we can try Harps + cash for cap space that would a bit, but I think FO is resigned to paying the tax this year and maybe even next year unless they trade AK.

We would be alot thin (as opposed to a little) in the front court (Note: The Knicks are 1-9 so a top 5 pick next year is almost guaranteed already) with AK moving back to the bench backing up the 4.

It's time to makes a few moves because what we got any working. I dont think anyone wants to keep watching our frontcourt of Okur and Boozer gift points to the other team and since Okur just signed a 2 year extension during the offseason Boozer is the odd man out.

Williams Maynor Price
Bell Korver Matthews
Wallace Brewer Harpring
Millsap Kirilenko
Okur Fesenko Koufos

Lets get some mongrel back into our team!

I don't care if Bell is hurt, I would do Booze for Crash/Bell straight up any freaking day of the year.

The deal is really about getting Wallace and loosing Boozer.
How about this instead,
Boozer and Korver
for
Wallace and Diaw.?.
I really prefer this one but I'd doubt they'd go for.

It looks like Raja was just traded today. It didn't take a lot to get Stephen Jackson.

Raja, Radman

for

Stephen Jackson and Acie Law

That seems pretty cheap for the Bobcats.
