Monta Ellis Does Not Approve of Stephen Curry

Post#1 » by WTFsunsFTW » Mon Sep 28, 2009 10:11 pm

Monta Says He Can't Play With Curry

Monta Ellis does not believe he can share the floor with Stephen Curry.
"Us together? No," Ellis said. "Can't. We just can't. ... Just can't."

Ellis was then asked by a member of the media if he understands that the Warriors do believe the guards can play together.

"They say you can?" Ellis repeated. "They say you can ... but you can't. I just want to win and you're not going to win that way."

Stupid Golden State.

First they promise to trade with us.
then they change their mind and pick ANOTHER guard.
Then they neglect their current roster to the point that SJAX demands a trade
Now Monta is coming out publicly to declare he can NOT play with the draft pick his team made after they went back on a trade agreement to get him.

I remember when golden state fans were in here talking about how we were about to blow it up but they have their two biggest players go and one demands a trade and the other claims the teams plan will fail.

Monta is such a terrible locker room cancer, what with his idiotic off court moves and his ego. He can't coexist with damn near anyone in the backcourt. GSW is so screwed lol

I thought GSW would be one of the teams that could make some noise in the WC if they could stay healthy and learn to play together with some chemistry. But their internal problems is not something I would consider surprising. From their TEAM CAPTAIN wanting out, to their supposed future franchise guy declaring he can't share the floor with their first round pick and to the usual Nellie antics, it would be incredibly hard for them to find any consistency this season.

Monta and their FO are already on bad terms after his moped incident and now that they have drafted pretty much the exact same player in Curry, I don't see how their relations can improve.

SJax's demand did come at a surprise but that just goes to show how bad things must be in GSW if their team captain is demanding a trade.

Now all this has gone down, I'm not sure I want Curry anymore. Not that I ever did.

Hahahah I saw that little comment and I started lmao ....wow. That is not a way to earn respect in the locker room nor is it good for team chemistry... GSW have their hands full already with S. Jackson, but now this. I'm glad to see the PHX Suns chemistry is very high. We are going to stomp on them come Oct 10th!

Wow, GS's season is looking awful and the preseason hasn't even begun...hmmm I would have thought that after his moped incident, Monta would think twice before speaking out. Guess not.

Monta's right, Curry should be backing him up, not starting next to him.

Monta/Curry/CJ
Jax/Morrow/Curry
Azubuike/Maggette
Randolph/Wright
Beans/Turiaf

is what they should roll with.

So...we need to work out a 3 way to get Ellis and Jackson here...

GS I think get better by subtraction, and Houston get a healthier, younger player who's good to go now.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=ydoyl7t

Suns roll out:

Frye
Amare
SJackson
Ellis
Nash
---
Hill
Barbosa
Dudley
Clark
Lou
Dragic
Griffin

Oh baby...imagine Ellis goes to the bench and we bring Barbosa in...hahaha good luck

I think Donny is a moron and is killing that team. His ego is even bigger than anyones in this league. I do agree that Curry and Ellis should not play together, but I think he is going about it the wrong way. good luck with that GS.

I like the trade but that much long-term salary = no go from Sarver, and I think Kerr is relying on Fropez this season to step up.

Also, I think Houston values cap space more than Richardson.

Phoenix: DONE

Houston: DONE

Golden State: should because you're right about addition by subtraction, but they can get more value for both Jack and Ellis..TMac feels to me like he has VERY little left in the tank

Also would just wanna make sure none of Monta and Jack's beef is with each other

Love it, Love it, FREAKIN' LOVE IT! Defense? We dont need no stinking defense! That team alone could put up 180 points a night on the board! Awesome idea, and i think you should throw it up on the Trade Board. I am real interested as to what the other teams say. HOU should say yes. GS fans (as we have learned already with the Amare-gate of '09) are unreasonable and over value their players quite a bit.

They say no, yet i have to believe their FO says yes. They let Curry take over where Monte left. Keep McGrady (if he stays healthy) or pawn him off/ use him as a 22mill expiring (to help cover the ugly contracts they have been giving out).

HOU gets a Big man in Lopez to help with the loss of Yao. Yao could teach Lopez some of his moves and when he returns, Lopez could be a serviceable back up for him. JRICH provides HOU with what they have been missing in the past 4-5 years, a high volume scoring SG that can stay healthy and put up damn near All-Star numbers.

We get a speedy starting SG with a better contract then JRICH. S-JAX Gives us a scoring threat (more then Hill) and defensive stopper (more then Hill) at SF. Its like combining 2 of the greatest small-ball run-n-gun teams ever! Give Amare his extension and build our future around a core of Ellis/Jackson/Clark/Amare. That just made my shorts a bit tighter! :D :D :D

A problem with that trade, is it leaves us with zero size off the bench and no true center. It goes to 6'9" (2), to 6'8" (1), and then to 6'7" (2). Not enough size to get through the post season. We already have a cheaper version of Ellis in LB, and we would kill any work Dudley did on his shot this summer.

I want to see how our current guys are doing together before with throw another wrench into the cog, like we did last year. At this point, it is better to leave things alone, or make very minor adjustments.

Yup... I'm starting to enjoy the fact that GS stabbed us in the back on draft day

Great trade (for us and HOU) Tastic... who needs defense is right.

i dont think that curry would be a bust if he was with us, but with Nellie as a coach, and the attitude from Ellis, i think that he will be... but only because of his situation.
