Given the severe offensive limitations of Ty Chandler and DeSagana Diop, where will the team's post-up/interior scoring come from? Who else besides Raja Bell (who's rumored to be on the trading block), and Vlad Radmanovic can consistently knock down long-range jumpers?
My answers: These are the questions of the day in Bobcat's land, and there are no easy answers.
I hope Chandler is healthy and proves to be a decent post player, but he's never been a FORCE down low. I think Nazr may actually have a decent season off the bench, but that hardly constitutes an answer. In reality Diaw is not a post-up PF, and we have none on this roster. Charlie has correctly identified our biggest weakness, and so far nothing has been done to address it.
Outside shooting? Murray will certainly help off the bench, but he is streaky. DJ is a decent shooter, but he won't carry us. We all know how Crash's outside shot is shakey. Frankly, Diaw must be able to hit from the outside and stretch the lane, allowing Crash to penetrate and Chandler to operate. Bell is not a lights-out shooter, and we know how bad Felton is.
If you can't establish scoring in the post, or hit shots from the outside with consistency, you'd better run, run, run on offense, and play hellacious defense that forces turnovers.
