Question from a Jazz Fan.

Post#1 » by blackham9258 » Tue Sep 29, 2009 2:50 am

Would you all do a Boozer for Butler. We take on his extra year of salary and you guys take $3M extra this year. Both teams swap all*stars and better fit the current teams needs.

Haywood
Boozer
Jamison
Miller
Arenas

You guys need a true low post threat at PF, not 3 SF's.

We need someone who can fill it up from the outside to fill our ouside wing shooting wows, and we need to rid ourselves of Boozer.

What do you think?

Ha, we're already in lux tax territory and you want us to cough up an additional 6 million to take on Boozer? All the while you get Butler, who's simply the better player, in return? Not sure this will go over too well.

Somehow our defense gets worse with Jamison at SF and Boozer at PF.

I understand your reluctance, but as a fan I think we sometimes worry too much about what are teams have to pay. It isn't as though we are pitching in. Besides, this balances your team so much more than the way it is currently constructed, and defense was not your strong suit to begin with. Getting Boozer in a contract year will be huge. He will play defense if only for this year, and he will put up huge numbers.

Also, I just do not understand the point yet of trading for Miller, so that you now have 3 stud SF's. Jamison, Butler, and Miller.

I think the trade helps you more than us, but I understand the reluctance to let go of a good player who has been healthy for you.

Boozer brings some interior toughness, but he won't make us that much better on defense to justify the flexibility and range we lose on offense.

Depending on how this team fares I'd consider it at the deadline but for now, I'd rather see Washington stick with what they have.

That pretty much is the bottom line: Wait and see how things shake up in the season. Jamison or Butler will have to lose the starting spot if this team's not clicking before the deadline. Either would probably rather be traded than see that happen.

egads, a boozer/jamison combo would be historically bad defensively. we dont have the perimeter defenders to even consider such a trade.

put it this way. would yall do jamison for millsap?

honestly id rather have jamison than boozer. jamison has a better outside game while boozer has a better inside game. they are both solid rebounders and horrendous defenders. personally i consider their skills a wash but i like jamison's personality better. it's a fair trade but it's just a rearranging the deck chairs kinda move. considering the negligible upside id rather not upset the chemistry.
Until Grunfeld goes there is no rebuild.

Honestly I would rather have Jamison as opposed to Boozer. I would love to get Milsap for the right package but at this point I will leave with the PF spot to Jamison, Blatche, Oberto and McGhee.

I'd trade Jamison for Boozer in a millisecond but there's no way you're getting Butler.

I think Boozer for Jamison could give the Wizards an inside scoring threat and give long term salary flexibility. I think Butler is too valuable to give up for a potential one year of Boozer.
