bynum says knee is 100%

Post#1 » by Iamabeasttt » Tue Sep 29, 2009 7:39 pm

Lakers center Andrew Bynum looked fit and said he is feeling healthy and ready to help the team defend the NBA championship.

Bynum, who has had problems with his right and left knee the last two seasons, said he might wear a brace on both knees this season.

Bynum missed 46 games during the 2007-08 season with a left knee injury. He missed 32 games last season with a torn ligament in his right knee. Bynum came back this season and played in the playoffs, but he was not the same player.

"Everything is fine with the knee," Bynum said Tuesday during the Lakers' media at the team's training facility. "The knee is 100%. I'll have to wear a brace for the rest of my career."

Bynum said his goal is to be an All-Star this season.

He said this last year too. However, this time I'll believe him, as he had surgery way back in January, so he should be ready to dominate right from the start.

As long as he's not shaving stars on his head, we should be alright.
Thank you, Phil.

hopefully he can find a brace that doesn't seemingly restrict his movement so much.

He should wear some form of knee pads or something just to help.

They make some great knee braces these days, I tore my lcl and had a custom brace made, I grappled with it for about a month and it felt pretty good, and there is much more leg movement in BJJ than hoops. Gary Coleman should be just fine.

Someone should tell him that he should just wear both. The restricted movements will be compensated by the fact that he can play without any worry about getting injured. He can take them off during the postseason if necessary.

Just want to see Andrew worry about dominating the glass and the defensive paint. Those should be his only goals for this season. Any pouting about touches or playing time is unecessary.

From what I've seen, I think Bynum can probably get 10 boards, 2.5 blks, and probably 14-16 points, and on this Lakers team, that's very good. That would qualify as All-Star. I think he'll need to add more muscles to reach superstar.
