Beasley averaged 20 and 9 while Miami was jockeying for playoff position in April. He very definitely had something to do with where we wound up. Was he the go to guy? Certainly not, but he certainly was a team leader for that stretch of games. Everyone starts somewhere. Wade wasn't Miami's leader at first, either...

The point is dude, you made a point of saying we saying we should keep our guy that got us to a below 0.500 team, like he was responsible for it. Well, he had NOTHING to do with our record, and if you knew ANYTHING about the Warriors then you'd know how AR's rookie season went, which was Nellie run.

Also, IF the Warriors had Dwayne Wade, then we would have had your record and u would have had ours, or even worse. Thats it.

Actually, not at all what I said. I think what I said was pretty much "put up or shut up".

In other words, he needs to contribute more than 8 points a game, and he needs to do it when the games actually matter. In other words, the very least he could do if he is so much better than Beasley is put up similar stats to Beasley for an entire season.

Also, IF the Warriors had Dwayne Wade, then we would have had your record and u would have had ours, or even worse. Thats it.

That's rather poor logic. Beasley also would have had far more opportunities to prove his skill if Miami didn't have Wade. They'd have needed his scoring in the starting lineup. He probably would have averaged a rather hollow 20 points per games. Therefore, no one would be able to compare the 8 point 6 board per game Randolph to Michael Beasley. Honestly, they shouldn't be anyway because their games are so different.

Also, if Wade were on Golden State and they were competing (maybe, maybe not), who's to say AR would have even seen the floor? Right or not, coaches who are in the thick of things (especially veteran coaches) don't like to play rookies a lot. Beasley had the benefit of a rookie coach and Udonis Haslem and Jermaine O'Neal being the only veterans there. Randolph had guys like Ellis, Biedrins, Jackson, Crawford, Maggette, and Turiaf in the lineup. Completely different scenarios.

The impact both guys made on the team should be looked at to be honest. Beasley's team made the playoffs, while Randolph's didn't. It's clear, but Beasley had a superstar, and Randolph was stuck with D-Leaguers trying to tank. The end results are scewed, the best way to be able to compare them statistically, and how much impact they have on the team would be from the begining of this season until All-Star break. If at that time, both teams are fighting for playoff contention, or if both aren't then we can compare from All-Star to playoffs.

The scenarios are about the same, and it would allow us to see how both players do on/off the court.

Randolph is starting, and so will Beasley I assume, and so then we can finally find out how each players off-season paid off... I'm gonna go off and say that Randolph will start the year strong, but both guys by December, January will be seesawing for who's playing better. Beasley is going to have better offensive statistics, and Randolph defensive.

Beasley is in the perfect situation right now, had Wade not been on the team the Miami would have been hands down the worst team in the NBA. Right now Beasley has plenty of opportunities seeing that only one player other than him is a scorer and scoring is what Beasley does best. Beasley has been and will be a better player because of Wade, and that's a compliment.

You stick players like Stephen Jackson, Correy Maggette, Jamal Crawford, Al Harrington etc. etc. around Beasley and you will see what it's like to not have opportunities.

Wade doesn't take away opportunities from Beasley, he gives him more. That's not me defending Randolph, that's me defending Wade.

Can we lock this thread for now - atleast let's have them play this coming year and we will have some better idea.

We can bring back this thread at the all-star break time and then after the season to see who stands where.

Preseason is starting soon my man, if anything I think this thread should be kept open all season long since this has been the greatest off-season player debate on RealGM.

You don't need to keep reiterating the poll count, dude. The results are at the top of the page for all of us to see.

Every time Randolph or Beasley has a good/bad/ok/mediocre/acceptable/eh/amazing/decent game everyone is gonna run out and say "I told you so!! Beaz/Randolph is a scrub/GOAT frontrunner!!! They scored X amount on X% with X boards!!!!! Those are awesome/terrible stats and obviously this indicates how good they will be the rest of their career!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!"

lol are you serious man? We all know(objective fans) that Randolph will be better than Beasley.. Whether the Miami Wade beats the Warriors that day or not is meaningless.
