Rashad McCants?

Post#1 » by TXSun » Thu Oct 1, 2009 6:16 am

Just got realeased by the HOU Rockets. Hasn't reached full potential yet due to injuries. Had some good games for lowly Minn. Lets give him a non-guaranteed contract. No risk for cheap.

We should definitely get one or two guys on a non-guaranteed contract. It's risk-free and who knows, we may be able to find a gem.

I guess the only downside is if the player becomes a fan favorite and doesn't make the team for one reason or another.

Dude doesn't know what the word "pass" means...not the guy we'd want on an unselfish team like this. He'd be fantastic in Golden State though.

There was just a discussion about McCan't last week or so. No way do we want him, he's not a good locker room presence beside the fact that we just straight up don't need him. Why would we get McCan't before a defensive big?

I don't know why we didn't give Linton Johnson another shot. He's pretty much exactly what we need/want instead of Griffin. Long, athletic, veteran, defensive minded...

No way we need McCants. I understand that a longer rotation will help boost our own confidence in the Suns, but we simply don't need another SG/SF.
Linton Johnson I'd be okay with. Simply because he understands his role and doesn't expect huge minutes so he wouldn't disrupt team chemistry. He'd fit into the "new" philosophy of the Suns, which is to hustle and defend.
There are no defensive bigs left on the market except Stromile Swift. Who I would actually re-sign because he seems to fit better into our system then any other big left on the market. But his lack of motivation is a concern, and I think thats why the Suns didn't re-sign him.

As I've mentioned before Linton is the one NBA player I actually know, from my business school team helping him draw up a business plan. He really has an insane work ethic. Last I heard he was trying to crack the Bulls' training camp roster...has he gotten into camp anywhere? He just randomly sends me SMS when something good happens in his career lol but I haven't heard from him since he sent me that last month.

I'd like to see him here too, though wouldn't there be a little bit of redundancy with him and Lou?
