i agree that giving Aldridge max is thinking out of the box and a gamble, but i think (solely on speculation) if Aldridge was the #1 option on a team, he could become a 25ppg player, and possibly turn into the next Bosh or Jermaine O'Neal.


LMA is the definition of a great but not outstanding player, and certainly NOT the type of player you give a max contract to. He's Rashard Lewis-tier.

Smart move by Joe. Someone is going to miss out in the FA sweepstakes next summer and overpay for him.

This puts us in a tough situation, and means there is a possibility we take a step backwards in the 2010-11 season. But I think it would be wise not to overpay for JJ, and acquire a no. 1 option in the future that will make us a better team overall.
