No, actually, we didn't. At 92.0 possessions per game, we were a hair above league average, which was 91.7. We had the worst transition PG in the league, Calderon (really awesome 6MOY type but the WORST guard in the league at pushing the tempo and taking advantage of guys streaking up the wings, etc).

Marion, however, was made by Nash to some extent; he has NEVER shot anything even close to what he did with Nash away from him. Without Nash, he's in the 46-48%, generally, which isn't terribly impressive for a guy who does almost nothing but dunk on offense. With Nash, he shot nearly 53%, which is a pretty remarkable jump. Nash can't claim credit for Marion's rebounding or defense, but definitely can for his offensive production.

Meantime, I'm terrified that Amare is a captain... what's that going to do but cause him to point fingers at the other captains as a way to slough the blame off of himself when he's busily getting torched on D like usual? I guess I get the point, sort of "put up or shut up, Amare," but I don't see it ending well. He's not a leader. Woo, he read books on leadership (mostly Wikipedia and The Art of War, wow Amare, really stretching your freaking literacy skills). *twirls a towel*

Frye at the 5 should be interesting. Rebounding and defense are, once again, going to suck, but at least the offense should be consistently nasty again. Now we just to find a consistent wing finisher who's not too old to attack the rim regularly and it should be playoff time again.

You'd think that Jason Richardson would be able to do that what with his fantastic finishing ability, but holy crap...every time the guy dribbles more than three times it's an automatic turnover.

Some talk that the Bulls would like to get rid of Aaron Gray ... there's a bargain 7 footer with defensive and shot-blocking skills. I bet we could do a Tucker deal

I'd do that in a heartbeat. Tucker is beyond useless. Gray would be pretty close to useless to us too because he's so slow, but he's big. Really big. He'd be a nice 11th man.

Bulls don't need him. They are stacked with people better than him that can play the 4 and the 5.

I'd do Tucker for Gray in an instant. Who cares where Rolo or Gray comes in, at least he's a big body who could see some PT considering how thin we are at the 5. Tucker on the other hand will be playing behind Hill, Dudley and Clark at the 3 and JRich and Barbs at the 2, he'd only ever see garbage time.

Only thing is, I think Gray is injured at the moment.

I think Channing is going to pretty well for you guys. The thing about Channing is that he needs consistent minutes to be effective. During his first year in Portland there was a stretch or two where injuries opened up starter minutes and Frye produced. He's not very physical, but he can rebound. His shot is streaky, but again is much better when he sees the floor consistently. His defense won't blow anyone away, but he'll give you some effort.

Gray's coming back form a foot injury but is apparently okay - can't be traded until Dec 22 though

Homework assignment; write down a note every time you see Jason Richardson jump off of one foot.

That is all.

EDIT: Also yes, he has terrible ball-handling skills.
