Hey guys, I'm a bucks fan and I was looking at the rosters for some of the big 010 teams and holy **** you blow all others out of the water. Mainly with two coner stones in Lopez(I said to pick him, in stead we got JA, ugh) and Harris.

So my question is, with no additional moves and cutting all the unguaranteed contracts Dooling and Nejera do you have enough cap room to get two max FA?

Harris
Lee or WIlliams
LBJ
Bosh
Lopez

and your lotto pick

Other quick questions, would Wade even work with Harris in the back court?

and please stay far away from amare..

that team looks awsome.

I'm not a big LBJ fan, but i'm rooting for you guys to get him over those damn knicks!

2 max contracts is possible but not realistic. If the Nets were to pursue it I think they would look for a sign and trade instead of trying to free up all the money straight up. They have a lot of young players and draft picks in the coming years so they will have sign and trade ammo. More likely they will use cap space on one max free agent and then a player or players to compliment that free agent.

While Harris, Lee, CDR and Williams aren't particularly good fits for Wade (great fits for James though) if you can get Wade you take him and adjust the team around him.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, if Lebron leaves Cleveland I highly doubt he will go to the Knicks.

Im a knicks fan, and im not over here trying to start and trouble but to be fair some of you guys sounds like pretty big homers yourself. Its all apart of being a fan of a team.

I will say that as of now you guys have better young talent. Mark that down, a Knicks fan gave the Nets credit!! I do however think we have some promising young talent that we dont get credit for. First off, Lee is no peice of trash. Led the league in double double last season, and while he needs to work on his defense, thats no small feat. While he isnt exactly a rookie anymore, he's still fairly young and has room for improvement.

Wilson Chandler showed last season that he has alot of potential. If he can work on making those open shots more, and getting to the line a bit more, he can be a very good player in this league.

Nate, while he isnt the greatest, he would be wonderful in a 6th man role. Not exactly Devin Harris status ofcourse, but he's a valuable player imo.

Now those two are somewhat proven.

Now we get to Gallo, the guy who played a few games with a hurt back. He looked decent at times, and appears to have some potential. One thing someone on here said that I agree with is that Gallo is the Knicks savior. Your 100% right. He has to be, so alot of Knicks fans are being optomistic. We know our sitiation sucks, and that we know we dont get our own draft pick (by the way some of you guys mention that you'll have a lottery pick in 2010, thats not exactly a good selling point). We know we picked this rookie that imo isnt going to be all that great ( I hate the HIll pick, other Knicks fans love it, i think he'll never be a starter in the NBA), and i dont think most Knicks fans think that Tony Douglas is going to get AI (although I do think we may have gotten a very good guard late in the 1st round, its possible, i wont start naming other good guards picked late in the draft), time will tell with Douglas what he can do. But yes, Gallo is our real hope, and if the Knicks have any shot at all of getting Lebron it has to start with him being a very good young prospect. Based on stuff that we've read, we have reason to believe that he can deliver on some of the hype. Can he be all that KNicks fans hope he can be? I dont know, only time will tell, but he does appear to be the real deal.

How can you say that? He's barely played in the NBA and he wasnt even all that great in his limited time. He looked decent and he was playing with a messed up back in pain the whole time. Pain free maybe we will get to see what Gallo can really do. His stroke was sick last season, cant get any worse now that he's healthy. Hopefully he can get to the hole more and be a bit more mobile.

I wont talk too about what Gallo can and cant do, but you gotta at least admitt his is a nice young prospect (even though he is unproven). But dont act like he cant come out and have a very nice year, its feasible. Afterall, you've barely seen the guy play, so you cant pass judgement one way or the other.

Not sure if it makes you guys happy or not, but the Knicks immeidate future does ride in Gallo's hands. If he turns out to be a solid player, but nothing more than that. We'll end up looking forward to the 2011 draft, and praying a good FA decides he wants to give NY a try. If he comes out a proves to be one of the better young talents in the league, we stand a chance at landing Lebron and maybe making the playoffs.

JMonty,

There's no doubting the talent of Lee and Nate, but can the Knicks fit both of them and a MAX contract under the salary cap?

This is like beating a dead horse. There no doubt as of Octber 6th, 2009 the Nets have better young talent. Harris and Lopez are better then anyone on the Knicks roster. As fo rthe Knicks right now their best player is Chandler hands down the best all around player. I see the potential in Gallo that the Knick fans see. Now when next year rolls around July 1st., 2010 the Nets/Knicks rosters will look like this:

Nets:
Harris
Lee
Dooling
Najera
CDR
YI
Lopez
T.Will
2010 1st.
Dallas 1st.

that is ten players on the roster with potentially 2 allstars if Lopez continues his progress (at least all-star caliber)

Knicks:
T. Douglas
Jefferies
Curry
Hill
Gallo
Chandler

thats 6 players under contract. lets just say Gallo becomes that player they expect (MAYBE). Chandler is good but not an allstar. Resigning Nate and Lee will make them better but will cost 5 mil and 8mil to do so.

Not taking into account anything about where each team plays (we'll save that for another time) The Nets are a more balanced younger deeper team hands down with practically the same amount of cap space. I just don't see the agruement here.

Rockice,

I agree.

Based on what I saw on Sun, Gallo is going to be good. I like Chandler. T. Douglas is going to be good. Nate is out of control. I like Lee but he is overrated. The Knicks are a Jump Shooting team with 4 SFs and a PG as Starters.

That said. We have Harris, Lee, CDR, Yi, Twill(People are going to be amazed), Lopez and Two 2010 picks.

I dont see how some Knick fans cant see that the Nets have a better bunch of young players.

We're dropping the gloves here VC4P I like it. I'll explain why we want to move to Brooklyn its simple

The year is 2000: the Nets have a young exciting team in the finals with an arena thats 2/3 full. The Knicks on the other hand are the laughing stock of the league, I believe these were the Shandon Anderson and Othello Harrington years ( I could be wrong though but you get my point). The Nets ticket prices were by far cheeper and yet the Knicks still sold out alot of their games. And if there are any Knick fans trolling by don't give me it's because it is the mecca of basketball BS. The mecca of basketball is the Staples Center or Boston Garden (because they win championships). The truth is it's becuase of NY and there are a billion people there.

or the Knicks fans are resting their hopes on... Curry declining on extending his contract. Rumor has it the Curry can opt out for a longer contract this year. That is what Walsh's secret weapon is. Like Curry's Agent is stupid. Now way Curry gets a long term contract paying him what he is getting next year. He needs more Big Macs!

Leave the name calling out.

- Rich Rane

BOTH teams are in real good position to nab some FA talent next summer.
however, u guys dont kno how to rate jack.

imo, the top 5 out of both teams are:
1. devin harris (njn)
2. david lee (nyk)
3. brook lopez' potential (njn)
4. danilo gallinari's potential (nyk)
5. tie- courtney lee (njn) and wilson chandler (nyk)

but as of today the knicks have a better squad hands down...
al harrington, nate robinson, jordan hill, toney douglas, chris duhon
vs
terrence williams, rafer alston, yi janlian, bobby simmons

AND, its not the arena's that matter. 1) nets prob wont move to brooklyn until the 2011 season anyway, and 2) yes who doesnt enjoy playing at MSG, if u ever been there u kno why they call it the world most famous arena, but i dont think city or arena are deciding factors for FA's, BUT THE FOLLOWING ARE:
COACHING STAFF, TRAINERS, AND UPPER MANAGEMENT!!!

Mike Dantoni vs. Lawrence Frank? ADVANTAGE: Knicks
Donnie Walsh vs. Kiki Vandewedge? ADVANTAGE: Knicks

whatever tho, itll be interesting to see what happens. nets have more players under contract tho so they have an advantage there. i def dont see wade or bosh bookin' (unless their teams dont make the playoffs). and outside of kobe or amare, we gona have to fight over players like joe johnson and michael redd who arent gona care which borough of ny they get to play in

Here's how I rank the assets between the two teams:

1. Not playing for the Knicks
2. Brook Lopez
3. Devin Harris
