Look What I found.....

Post#1 » by S.I.C. GM » Mon Oct 5, 2009 6:05 pm

Vince Carter -- the eight-time All-Star -- caught Van Gundy's wrath Wednesday, just the second day of training camp. Often treated with kid gloves during his time in New Jersey, Carter became the example of what not to do late in the morning practice.

"He (Carter) did not play well defensively today. He didn't do a good job out there. He's capable of doing a lot better, and that's what I want to see," Van Gundy said. "As a matter of fact, we'll talk to him about that and show him some (film) clips tomorrow."

Haha when you're the casual fan only knows one player on your team at the start of the year last year, you're probably gonna get special treatment. Honestly, call me a dick, but I'd laugh if Stan Van Gundy yelled at me. If Jerry Sloan or Greg Popovich or Phil Jackson called me out, I'd listen and change my ways, but there are not many coaches that would put fear in my eyes. Van Gundy is not one that would scare me. I mean I'd play better just because I don't want to let my teammates down, but on most teams you're playing for your teammates...not the coach.

I still think SVG is a very good coach, just a little too hyper at times, although he is gradually toning that down some as well.
