Suns scrimmage video

Post#1 » by Mjee » Mon Oct 5, 2009 12:06 am

They recently posted a video of the suns inner-squad scrimmage from So Cal. Its a good watch and it looks like they are progressing well. I believe this team has the pieces to have a very successful year. Check it out!

I just finished watching it. Wasn't much to see as we saw only probably 3 percent of the actual game. Plus it's a scrimmage before preseason starts so not much can be taken from that. Amundsen's numbers stand out to me which in a way could be cause for joy or cause for concern. As we know Lou is a dirt-pale type guy busts his butt for everything and gets offensive boards gets put backs so that could mean his 21 points were off Suns not going all out in a scrimmage, or it could be Lou's improved perimeter shot. If the Suns can make Lou hit 75 percent of his free throws and hit some outside jumpers they might be able to teach a dog how to speak. I mean from the medical staff that made Hill and Shaq look younger and Shaq's improved free throws, the Suns medical staff and shooting coaches seem to know how to get the job. Even talk about Alando Tucker's jumper doesn't look as flat anymore. He honestly could be a nice player for us if he learned how to play in our system and make some jumpers. I wouldn't be against using Tucker in the post either like we used J rich upon occasion. Tucker used to post up guys in college and I see nothing wrong with occasionally getting him the ball in the post 1 on 1 with his man if there's no weak side help that the D brings.

I'd also like to see J rich in the post a little more.

So Gentry thinks J-Rich has had the most impressive camp. His defense has been great apparently.

I did not know J-Rich was a 2 time Big 10 defensive player of the year. He really has no excuse not to be a good defensive player

If J-Rich can return to his 20 and 6 days the Suns are looking good.

yeah 20 and 6 would be nice. But what would be even nicer would be to see him average about 1.5 steals a game and play great defense. That to me would be a bigger cause for joy. Here's to hoping J rich has a fantastic season.

I would kind of like to blame J-rich and Amare's coaches for how they are defensively now. Neither of their coaches, when they came into the NBA, were so into offense and not at all into defense, it's almost like they trained them to be lazy on D. Maybe Gentry can change that around... J-Rich has said that Defense was almost all he worked on. Hopefully he's not lieing. I think they'll be fun to watch.

It's too bad all our good defensive players come off the bench...

Well Hill is probably the Suns best defender until Clark can prove differently.

Quite true... Besides him though, the rest of our defense is on the bench. Dragic, Dudley, Amundsen, and possibly Clark and Lopez have shown some brilliant defense more often than not. Dragic shut down Rubio, Amundsen gets punched every few games because he frustrates people so much...

This game on Tuesday should be a decent show of our wing D. I live in Denver and my wife and I went to their game against Partizan. They have nobody that can slash but they tried to shoot a lot of threes. Didn't make many, but they were throwing those bricks up all night.

^^ So our starters can bust out to an early lead, then the bench can come in and preserve it...?

They're always cheaper at the box office. Just head down there. Ticket exchange usually has pretty cheap tickets as well.
