McGrady Practices for First Time

Post#1 » by MjJunkYard » Mon Oct 5, 2009 3:09 am

Tracy McGrady (knee) practiced with the Rockets on Sunday for the first time since microfracture surgery last spring.

T-Mac was limited and this doesn't change his timeline -- he has an MRI scheduled for November 23rd and admitted that he has "a long way to go." Coach Rick Adelman says he told McGrady, "'We have to see you push through things, not like last year.' He has no pain. He has to push through." Obviously, there still are plenty of physical and mental hurdles between McGrady and the player fantasy owners once loved.

Small steps, but steps that need to be made.
I thought that he would go thru walk-thrus and shooting drills during camp and get in some limited practices later on to work on game conditioning, get the rust off and get used to offense/new teammates.

Most important item to be gleaned from article is the Rockets are going to wait until he can play every game once he's back,no more Hokey-McPokey...one game in,one game out.
If we had a pool on when he returns my money would still be on second Dallas game.

(Edit add)
Qoute from his newest neighbor:
"He looked good, real good," forward Trevor Ariza said. "He was real poised, real confident. He may be a ways away, but I think he looked good."
If they carpool, who picks the music?

I'm from the Rio Grande Valley and I was there for that practice. They had a closed practice followed by a open (public) practice. The open practice was more of a relaxing practice, it was rather a show for the fans the filled the small venue. It was like practicing in a high school gym, which was great for the fans attending because they got to see the Rockets from only feet way. TMac, Ariza, Brooks, Budinger, Scola, and Pops all looked good outthere. All the guys were having fun. Later that night I saw TMac, Brooks, and Ariza in downtown McAllen, known for the best night life in the Valley. Of course they were sorrounded by security.

Today is day 2 and I have another access pass to attend that practice as well. Stay tuned.

Thanks for the update will appreciate another one.

When you say T-Mac also looked good waht do you mean he played or practiced a little bit?
