How about Joe Johnson back in Phx?

Post#1 » by statisback » Wed Oct 7, 2009 3:09 am

He is leaving the Hawks next season for FA, so they should look at moving him to get something in return.

How about J Rich plus Dudley for Joe Johnson? Works salarywise as well.

He would have a say because if he voices his displeasure about going to Phoenix, we won't do the trade. If it's someone like Sean Marks who don't care where he is then it doesn't matter, but if it's someone who's getting paid like JJ does, we're not going to want him and pay his salary if he doesn't want to be here in the first place.

Haha. Its great to see the same threads coming up all the time. JJ would be nice back in AZ. I do not see it though due to how he went out and treated the suns and the owner. I know sarver would have him back (I think), but am not sure JJ's ego would allow it. Thing is, he would be the 2nd option on this team instead of 4th like the old days. That was another huge reason why he left. He wanted to be the man.

I would love to have JJ back. This team needs a player like him.

nash
JJ
Hill
Amare
Frye

I like it. But dont see it happening. Only if. :(

If you post on ESPN, you have to read his/her garbage there as well. Attention whoring, would be too nice of terms for what he/she is/does.

Oh well.

Well that is his name this week. He changes his name all the time, and sometimes he posts under another name if no one responds to his threads. Sometimes if he is getting bad responses to his thread, he will make a new name to say that he loves the idea. His original name was Suns2k5, but he would constantly get banned for going off the handle, which many have witnessed here. He really doesn't know much about the game, and he really is just an Amare fan, but oh well. I think most of us hoped he would catch on, and learn the game over the years, but we were wrong.

Maybe going off the handle was putting it too mildly. I see he forgot his meds today. But he really showed me, huh? I mean he displayed his maturity and his knowledge of the game, so I guess I was wrong.

Joe Johnson used to be my favorite player when he was with Phx. He is an ironman and very tough. I remember seeing him sitting on the bench after playing 3 full quarters in the playoffs and was offered some water and he shrugged it away. From that moment on I knew Joe was a very tough player and I have much respect for that.

However, when it was seen that Joe cared more about loot than winning, and forced the Suns to trade him, to a piss poor team (yeah yeah I know he wanted to be closer to his home in AR) I lost a lot of respect. Any professional athlete who cares more about loot than winning should NEVER be sought after. I know most players are like this, but the great teams and players, like Magic, Jordan, Bird ect never got into contract disputes. It was always about the winning.

If he doesn't go to the Knicks, I could see him returning to Boston, replacing Ray Allen and his expiring deal.

Rondo
Johnson
Pierce
Garnett
Sheed

= Championship.

Magic, Jordana and Bird were never low-balled and treated with disrespect by their FO - Joe was. He told PHX not to match ATL's offer, so as far as being all about the loot, he could have got the same amount and stayed here. Management had pissed him off so badly he just wanted out.

Even Sarver has admitted that how he handled JJ was his biggest mistake
