DJ is for real

Post#1 » by Dexmor » Wed Oct 7, 2009 5:17 pm

I know he is good. Last year I said he is the only one with star potential but of course I thought it was a bad move to pass on him for Lopez.
Now with that said I still think Lopez would have been better only because he is a 5 but D.J. is for real.
I mean this kid could be a top 5 pg.
He looked so great and confident out there as the man and not the backup.

Raymond Felton has potential but I got to go with D.J. as our future pg.

With that said Raymond turns down 7 million per year. We need depth, TRADE HIM.

Package him with Raymond/Bell/Lex and get somebody good. Get a 18 point a game 4 if you can.

I was very depressed about the direction the Bobcats were going in.

I was going to buy tickets to 4 games this year and then after the Mek/Chandler trade I figured they were giving up.

Now with Bell on the block and if they trade Felton and Bell they can get a pf and be even better.

Either way I want to see D.J. play in person.

This kid is great.

Best pg's by the end of the year

Rose
Williams
Paul
Parker
Harris
Westbrook
DJ
Davis

He can be that good. He could also possibly pass Westbrook because even though Westbrook is a better all around player D.J. is a better point guard.

No it wasn't televised I don't know why.

The next Bobcats game is and last year they all were so I don't know why this one wasn't.

Did you see it?

I just saw highlights but I was soooo impressed.

I don't think basing DJ's realness on a preseason game is very smart, Dex. Especially if you're just going off of highlights. He'll be a great point guard, though.

Anyone think he can average 20 PPG if he averages 38 minutes or so a game?

You would be right if I was ONLY basing it on that.
Im not and explained that.

Yes I think he can average 20 a game.

Not in this thread. Anyway, IIRC, last year you told us he was too small to be a great point guard, and that Felton was the only one with star potential on our team.

I have a feeling all of this DJ love is being brought on because Felton supposedly turned down that contract offer.

Televised? I'm gonna tease a bit all of us who will rely on internet links for our games - Sun Yue is a free agent! A big oportunity to have a link easch night for sure...but we all know it won't happen.

It was pretty funny when he got smoked by (I think it was) Hickson on a base line drive.

Hey, little man, fair chance if you are going to try and drive on a big guy there is a fair chance you are going to get eaten.

As much as I hate to admit it because the Cav's fans have really trumped him up...Hickson looked good.

He was only going up against Rad and Lexy though.

But ya, he looked active. I thought he was going to throw that put back down when he was pushed in the stomach in the 3rd.

He gets up off the ground pretty quickly.

You can't be serious about this list. I'd take Billups, Rondo, Miller, or probably Flynn over DJ.

Yeah i thought he played a great game aswell. Although i only saw the highlights. But still he looked good out there, looked active and full of energy which is always a good thing.

Be interesting who we could get if we packaged Bell and Felton and maybe another player. But i dont know if Bobcats would want to do that.

Billups -yes
Rondo - is overrated
Flynn - is hyped rookie, not in this season at least
Miller - is aging, that's a matter of time when there will be a consenzus that DJ is better than him

Rondo - yes he is overrated but he's still better than DJ. Are you actually saying if the Celtics offered Rondo straight up for DJ you'd say no?

Flynn - This thread started with DJ being offered up as one of the best PGs in the league by year-end and better than Billups. So hyping is fair game and I agree Flynn is hyped but I think he has better upside than DJ. I'd take Flynn's first preseason performance over DJ's.

Miller - Well, lets dial up the Spurs and offer Ajinca for Duncan now since in 10 years Ajinca might be better than Duncan (because Duncan is aging of course).
