Thunder vs Grizzlies 7pm cst

Post#1 » by dre_1614 » Wed Oct 7, 2009 7:34 pm

TV: none
Radio: WWLS The Sports Animal (98.1 FM, 640 AM)

I know we can't watch it, but I want to see how much improved Durant's defensive game is. Also I want to see how far along the rookies are, as well as Westbrook/Green. pretty much everyone lol.
This guy http://blog.newsok.com/thunderrumblings/ will be at the game and will do a write up on what he saw.

Well, I guess at least we'll get to see a write-up or two about the game. I'll be at the game on the 12th against the Suns (that one is on TV here though).

Despite it being preseason and not on TV, I am pretty excited to see how the team does!

If anyone else is obsessed enough to LISTEN to the game, here is the link:

note: This isn't a violation of the streaming rules as it's made freely available by the radio station (in case anyone was curious).

One interesting note that came up just in the pregame... Kevin Durant introduces himself, "Kevin Durant, Power Forward, Oklahoma City Thunder". Maybe his vision of himself is inline with the few people around here that thought KD could be a long-term PF...

A cursory look at the boxscore tells me it was a sloppy game par for the preseason course. OKC sent Memphis to the line 47 times.

Durant and Westbrook look like they were somewhat productive. I like that Westbrook had 10 assists to 2 turnovers and only four shot attempts (missed them all). D.J. White was productive scoring the ball but I have a feeling his defense was poor as his +/- is -11 despite his scoring.

Looks like Harden and Green struggled from the field.

I was keeping track of this game from the beginning and it looked like we were getting dominated on the boards with the starting units out there.

Is it just me or do the blue jerseys look a lot darker than last year?

I thought I posted this last night but I must not have clicked submit.

It's the first preseason game, so it's hard to put much stock into it. But 10 dimes and just 2 TO's from Westbrook is a nice bright spot.

Also for limited minutes Weaver had a pretty productive line.

Of course they did lose to the Grizzlies. :o
