Keys to the Game

1. Keep the absence of Troy Polomalu out of your minds and play better defense. Cause havoc with strong tackling and bumrushing Phillip Rivers out the pocket.

2. Exploit the Lions secondary

3. Force Duante Culpper into mistakes

4. Manage the fourth quarter better than the last game.

Injury Report:

Steelers:
SS Troy Polomalu will miss 3-6 weeks with a MCL injury.
C Darnell Stapleton IR Knee
TE Sean McHugh IR Knee
RB Frank Summers IR Back

Lions

QB Matt Stafford

It would be unneccessary to bring back TP43 against the Lions of all teams. Whenever he does come back, I'm sure he will be playing in share time with Carter for a minute until he gets all his momentum back to where it needs to be for the Steelers.

Thx AB702.

I'm tryin to get some interest here some kind of way. Got nothing else to lose at this point.

To the game, Mike Wallace just scored his first NFL TD for 47yrds. The Wall is starting to make a career for himself. Keep going man.

Didn't get to watch the game, but from listening to it, the secondary needs TP back big time. Good to see pressure on the QB though. Hopefully, once TP gets back, the defense will go back to being the best in the league.

They need to in a big way. Missing TP has effected how the Steelers play defense. In this case from the mental standpoint. He has become the center of the Steelers defense that the rest of the D-line use that as a crutch in their minds like a key piece that holds a structure together. If that piece is remove, the structure struggles to hold up to par.

What I would suggest to the Steelers coaches in practice is to play defense w/o TP so they guys know they have to step up their game so they can be more confident in their abilities w/o TP in the field.

Good win. I would keep TP out 1 more week. Let him get completely healthy so we will have him 100% for the stretch run. All we have to do is stay in front of Baltimore. Cincinnati's coach will soon turn back into a pumpkin.

honestly i forgot all about this thread on sunday. im glad the steelers pass rush decided to show up. those back to back to back sacks at the end of the game were nice. however we should have never been in that position to begin with. especially with a calvin johnsonless lions team. we need to clean all this garbage up on sunday against the browns then get ready for war against the vikings.

Return to Pittsburgh Steelers
