Wouldn't lebron's stats be more like 25/5/5?

Post#1 » by rocketsballin » Fri Oct 9, 2009 9:26 pm

last year cavs had wally/pavolic/tarence kinsey to backup the 2/3. only wally had good minutes in the playoffs and he was terrible, had one 17pt game, but every other game he had 2-4 pts or 0pts. pav was worse, and kinsey played like 2 games.

now the cavs had legit backups at the 2/3 who can also play starter minutes in case someone goes down for awhile. anthony parker and jamario moon, both capable of playing 35min and playing well in those minutes. 12pts/4rbs/2asts kinda numbers, both of them, and they both do the same thing in the playoffs.

and then they got shaq and z to man the paint, both above average rebounders and shot blockers. and of corse they can score.

so w/ their team how it is now, lebron does not have to put up 30/7/7 for the cavs to win. might not even have to do 25/5/5. i wouldnt be surprised if he goes 24/4/4.

for a top 3 pick, even w/ cp3 cuttin down on minutes. he'll own in asts and stls, and put up 20pts, help w/ rbs and stls. wade will have to put similar stats as laxt year for the heat to make the playoffs. both those guys are bound to have better stats than lebron. granger and durant would prolly be the same value as bron.

It's not whether he has to or not. It's the fact that LeBron is a stat paddler and he wants his stats to look impressive.

I'd be surprised at anything under 28/7/7, the only possible drop off he might see is in points, and even there it shouldn't be too big.

Jamario Moon and Anthony Parker are both great role players/support players who defer to other players. Lebron's numbers would actually go up, unless he gets pulled out of games early with definite wins.

He's still gonna play a ton of minutes.

I could maybe see his scoring going down to like 26-28, but in that case, I'd expect him to put up more assists. Not sure what's going to happen to his rebounds, but I'm sure they will be closer to 7-8 than 4.
