I blame the NBA too. They should make these available on the web.

I am watching the game on League Pass on Dish Network. I don't know if it's on a free preview or if my auto renewal has kicked in.

Last year was weird with Dish, they didn't have the contract for League Pass until several weeks into the season - but they wound up extending the free preview for a couple of weeks until the deal was finally made, so I didn't miss anything.

The last couple of years the channels weren't available for the majority of the preseason, but this year they've sat there blank on the guide all summer.

The odd thing today is that the Celtics/Rockets is the only game listed. Not sure if the other preseason games are on or not, or if the subsequent Celtics games will be there.

Directv needs to be threatened with cancellations, or switches to Dish network....I just wrote an e-mail to the NBA about this crap----We are the REAL fans who keep this league going---Do they really want to alienate fans in THIS economy?.....REALLY????

I'm with you and in the same situation, living in LA. I gave DirectTV a piece of my mind and got back a lot of drivel about how the sports organizations, and not DTV, decide on blackouts. That's when I asked them if they or the "sports organization" was getting paid by me to show NBA games. I have both the Sports Package (all of the 600's) and the League Pass, so there's just no reason for this, especially in light of the fact that pre-season games, as you said, are never blacked out.

Who shells out money for League Pass?? Oh yea, people who are really into basketball and really into their favorite team when they no longer live in that city. Who is really into pre-season basketball? Oh yea, the same people. DTV needs to be educated on the audience here. What a stupid and unnecessary situation they've caused.

Friday's is listed as well, supposedly in HD this time.

I've always been pretty happy with dish. 2 years ago they were way behind with HD for league pass but it improved a lot last year.

And you can't beat the turbo HD bronze package, it's a really good deal for me since I'm only interested in watching the Celtics. But I think I'll miss the Pistons/Celtics since I don't get FSN Detroit with the package.

It just keeps getting better. As ridiculous as blacking out all preaseason games is/was, they have topped themselves . . . I recorded the REPLAY on Comcast (630) today at noon EST.

Yup, that was "unauthorized content" and blacked out. Unreal. They're getting quite the earful right now.

OK, just a tip for you who are complaining. I have League Pass AND the Sports Pack. Preseason games are actually part of the Sports Pack (basically when you pay for all of the 600's and soccer channels), and not Leage Pass (the 750-763 stations). Or, I should say, they were . . . DTV originally denied that Preseason games were EVER availalbe on either package - obviously misinformation passed on to the CSR. However, I convinced them (I said "are you calling me a liar when I tell you I have been watching preseason games for years???").

Went through the whole routine, got the supervisor, got the manager, spent about 45 min. on the phone . . . and got a two month refund on my Sports Pack. Not League Pass, but Sports Pack.

Not much, but something . . .

still bitter

So I'm guessing the game 2morrow is going to be blacked out as well?

I've been with DTV for many years and have been very happy with them until last night.

When I called last night, the rep, after talking to his supervisor, first told me that the 2 channels were blacked out..... everywhere. That's the absolute stupidest answer I've ever received. Then he left for awhile and came back with they didn't sellout so the game was blacked out. After I explained why he was wrong again, he left and never came back. So I recalled, and finally got this answer - league pass doesn't start until Oct 27th so we are at the mercy of the local Comcast channels.

I don't know if this is true or if DTV is screwing us. Now after seeing that the replay was unviewable, it sounds like its Comcast. But what's the sense of showing the pregame and postgame but not the game? Maybe its the NBA. And now we're hearing that Dish showed the game. This is the same bull as when NESN blacks out Sox replays. Why? Morons? I just turn the tube off and go outside.
