Wolves need to get in on this streaming movment!

Post#1 » by Calinks » Tue Oct 13, 2009 8:00 pm

From the Wire tap.

The Blazers have announced that they will be the first NBA team to begin streaming games live online.

The league recently gave its teams permission to explore streaming games live over the internet.

Mike Barrett points out the fact that Comcast Sportsnet Northwest has yet to reach an agreement with satellite providers. Because of that, many fans could be out in the cold when it comes to watching games this season.

Portland president Larry Miller's goal by the start of the new year is to have every game streamed live on the website.

NBA teams have permission to do this now. I don't know if its free or not but the Wolves need to jump on this train. We are already missing a bunch of games this season, it would be fantastic if they could stream them all at Timberwolves.com.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

I might have the world's worst laptop. It's honestly a glorified paper weight. So really, I'll just keep the streaming to when I'm using the bathroom.

Nice.

I hope the wolves do something like that too...it doesn't even have to be a live stream...I'd be glad to find full games as repetitions somewhere on the internet...because I can't watch many games live.

that'd be nice, they need to get on this, you'll find nobody on this forum that's against this.
I hope they can find away to get all 82 games then. Even if its just the basic summer league camera angles

If they did this, and it was solid enough, I would probably cancel my cable.

I'd not only cancel my cable, I'll kick the **** out of James Dolan to prove my loyalty to Al Gore's internet.

I hope they don't do it until next season, because I just spent like $135 on League Pass Broadband.

I read this about two days ago on the Blazers board and it said it's not for free. it's probably connected to LP somehow but I'm not aware of the details.

Booo

Still, if it was cheap enough. I mean I don't just have cable for Wolves games, but it would sure make the decision to dump it that much easier.

Seriously it is that much? Is it just for the year? That is ridiculous.

You can also just pick 7 teams that you want to follow, and you get all their games for $89. Still a bit spendy, but not as awful.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

is there an option to just pick one team? I'm dying to follow the Clippers this year.

I have to have something to watch besides Twilight.

It would be so much easier if they just streamed them on the wolves site. They show Lakers and Cavs games non-stop down here on tv, but i've gotta search through crappy stream after crappy stream to watch the Wolves.

I can't see it happening without some sort of fee or catch.

I'll post it if it actually happens this year, but at some point my friend's company that I do some video breakdown for may sell interactive fan packages, which would be way cooler than just getting league pass. The info is already sourced to EA sports for NBA live and 27 NBA teams use the service. The fan packages will be nowhere near as complex or complete as what the teams get to use, but still probably better than league pass. No clue what the cost or features will be, but I will post it if I get more info. Here's some stuff on the company:

$135 doesn't really seem all that overpriced for all the games plus an archive of the entire season. It's definitely worth it to me anyway, since I don't have cable and I live in California so I wouldn't be able to watch the Wolves (or any other team for that matter) any other way.

I was forced into watching Twilight last night. Halfway through I was tying a noose and heading out to the balcony. Seriously, people!?

Exactly. The whole season archive will be nice. If I was even more of a diehard and had more time, it would allow me to watch games from the beginning of the season toward the end of the year and see how they progress.
