Re: Carlos Powell
No one could watch the game last night. But I watched him in Vegas summer league and he was ballin. Just a solid player..if we dont sign him, someone will and he can be a 7th or 8th man. Hes built well (very strong) and can jump.

Re: Carlos Powell
I'd cut tucker and bring this guy aboard. seriously. We're not cutting griffin we just drafted him plus he might have a tiny bit of potential seems tough-nosed, rebounder type. Tucker hasn't done anything wish him the best but I'd cut tucker and sign powell.

Totally agree..tucker wont fit on this team with or without powell. Tucker wont fit on any team.. maybe he can play a 6th year for the Wisconsin Badgers! lol

Re: Carlos Powell
Kinda his coaches fault at Wisconsin for setting him up for failure playing him in the post in college where he had alot of success. I think he might one day be a bench contributer but I don't see it here.
I'd go cut tucker, sign powell and go sign Melvin Ely if he gets cut.

Re: Carlos Powell
Powell is basically a version of what we thought we were getting with Tucker - athletic, in-betweener, perimeter scorer who can take it in and absorb contact.
Except Powell is 2 inches taller, a lefty, and has 3 pt range. He's only 26, so it's not like he's much older than other prospects. He should stick, but won't cos of Sarver.
So yeah. To most of us it seems obvious we should and would play this guy ahead of Tucker...but there's NO takers for him it appears.
Seriously, can we not find ANY team looking to offload a disgruntled vet or young player (ie Sean Williams) and just give them Griffin AND Tucker, and keep Powell?
This looks A LOT better than what we have, which is saying something considering the additions are only really minor pieces.
Frye
Amare
Hill
JRich
Nash
----
Dudley
Barbosa
Lou
Dragic
SWilliams
Clark
Powell
IR - RoLo
Jeez just pick up JCollins for the post D and vet experience...and 6 fouls.

Los is killing it in preseason! the dude can dunk, shoot the three, defend, block, he can do it all! I'd also rather see him over tucker or griffin actually.

Re: Carlos Powell
all jokes aside we're really going to need Lou to bring it every night off the bench and change the game. he's gotta be our rodman...just not in the wedding gowns...please.

Re: Carlos Powell
Yeah mate he won MVP - that's no mean feat...averaged like 28pts per and was quite easily the most unstoppable player in the NBL
He just needs a chance, and he could fit running for us

Dropping Tucker and picking up Carlos is a must, he's clearly ready to contribute and unfortunately Tuck is not.

Re: Carlos Powell
I really like Powell too and unfortunately I didn't get to see him at the outdoor game because he didn't play that game, but i've seen him play before and he is solid. But to be very honest I would like to keep Griffin because even though he doesn't do much on the court but behind the scenes he is one of the hardest working players on this roster, if not the most. He is an above average practice player who with the help of our veterans can do things his brother can in the coming years. Right now he is a poor mans Lou, which sounds bad but the guy is pure energy and has an extremely hard work ethic. Although I love Tucker he does not fit in with this team and would like to see him waived to sign Powell and see him sign elsewhere where he can get the PT he really deserves.

Re: Carlos Powell
i think dropping tuck would cost us money though - for that reason it probably wont happen
