It was suggested that Pennington would make sense if traded to the Purple

Pennington would not start in minnesota. Just a writer trying to make an article about a team he does not watch.

Pennington would easily be the best QB on the Vikings roster. I don't know if that means would start but if he did, the Vikings would be a lot better.

I think it could be debated if Pennington would be the best QB. He is not a good fit for a WCO, he does not have the arm strength to make the deep plays we like, and it would take a couple weeks to adjust and know the system. Thus by the time he was ready we would be in week 12 or so. And his injury history, horrible contract and age. I would not want him on the team. I also doubt he would make the team better. We need to test Tjax and see what he has. if at the end of the season we do not think he has what we need than we sign/trade for a vet and bring in a different young guy to develop (Woodson)

The west coast offense was designed to compensate for weak armed QB's. Pennington is smart, accurate and only about 30. He would make us a better team for sure.
I agree that at this point of the season we're better off seeing what T-Jack is made of. If we decide that T-Jack is not the guy at the end of the season I wouldn't mind bringing Pennington in and drafting a new QB of the future.

I disagree Rev. Deep plays and WCO are not always hand in hand. Every coach has his own version of the WCO. Ours happens to feature the run...although, he is terrible at throwing the deep ball. It would make Troy Williamson meaningless if we got him. Consider this though. Pennington throws the ball all over the place, until they enter the red zone. His target in the endzone virtually every time is L. Coles and it's almost always a jump ball. Coles is 5-11, and somehow they find a way to hook up. How many jump balls could he get into Rice's hands. My guess is we would be a great Red Zone team with Pennington because we can run and throw the jump ball. From 20 to 20, he's accurate and we are a running team anyways. I think it's a solid move. One better would've been Garcia.
