Preseason Game 5: NJ @ NY (NetsForce Talks With Himself)

Preseason Game 5: Nets @ Knicks (Oct. 16)

Nets Injuries:
Devin Harris is out with a strained groin. Dooling won't play. Hayes is out (stress reaction in shin). Yi is (slightly) banged up (shoulder) but says he'll play.

Knicks Injuries:
It's preseason and I don't care about those bums so I'm not even going to look anything up

I'm still fine tweaking the images. Like in seasons past I'll probably roll with these basic ones until an idea strikes me like lightning and I make a new layout...

@ jerseyjac, send me another PM with what you want in your signature and I'll make you one (eventually).

I third Chandler, but he is a crazy inconsistent shooter.

Haha who voted for Eddy Curry? You know come to think of it he's my favorite Knick because of that contract and how much he's killing them. Anything that hurts them is ok in my book.

I hope not. Bobby Simmons is so cool.

Typical Yi, he doesn't want to show off so he misses 2 ft's lets CDR get the offensive rebound, proceeds to get the ball thank and then nails a jumper on the Knicks for fun.

Edit 1: Right on cue Yi nails another jumper.

Edit 2: Yi with the D!

I must say that Gallinari is looking pretty good, the Knicks offense suits him perfectly. If things slow down though he's not nearly as effective as he is when getting up and down the court but he has great touch around the rim...

OMG that backdown, step-back turnaround jumper by Yi over Hill was nasty.

(P.S. Let's see if I can get 10 posts in a row...)

The Nets are using the full-court press quite a bit and I must say I like what I'm seeing... On another note I think this marks one of the few times I've actually seen Simmons try to drive to the rim.

He looks slimmer than last year.

- BOONE WITH THE JUMPER.
- Jordan Hill fails against Bobby Simmons.
- T-Will to the rack.
- Knicks chucking from 3.

- Man T-Will was killing it taking it to the rack, but he's settled for 2 bad jumpers in a row now.
- Gallo with his 3rd foul. T-HASS IS IN DA BUILD'IN. He's made some good defensive plays...

- Simmons chucking hard he's shot like 5 threes in a row and missed them all (leading to a 13-2 Knicks run).

I heard the Nets wanted him but they couldn't move up in the draft or they were worried about his back so maybe they felt it just wasn't worth moving up. Kiki said he was aware of the back problem but we'll never know what really happened.

and I don't know about him being ineffective in the half-court, when he catches the ball in a triple threat position people will have to respect his shot, giving him an open lane. He looks pretty strong and athletic here. He's kind of fearless, a very intriguing prospect.

Replacement refs are going hard on the Nets to start the 3rd.

@ Dantares - I think Gallo is a good prospect, but in halfcourt scenarios he's not nearly as deadly because defenders crowd him and he's incapable of cleanly beating them off the dribble. Sometimes this results in a foul call in his favor because of how awkward he looks but more often than not it ends up with Gallo taking off balance shots. If he gets stronger this shouldn't be as much of a problem but right now it's his transition 3 where he really shines...

Go figure I go to take a shower come back and the Nets are back in it. T-Will is looking nice though, the game comes so easy for him.
