NBA's Video Rule Book

Post#1 » by impulsenine » Fri Oct 16, 2009 10:24 pm

http://www.nba.com/videorulebook/

Video footage and explanations of all of the NBA's rules.

This is awesome, and the NBA deserves some serious kudos for assembling this. Not only that but Sweet Lou is one of the guys on the front page (random image; you may need to refresh obsessively eBay style).

I think this is a smack in the face by the Stern regime/dictatorship. This says to fans, hey, you don’t know what you are talking about and don’t know the game. If it explains why certain players get calls and respect and others don’t, than I would say kudos.

I know what a travel is and looks like, same with a carry. I actually think this will hurt the league more because they came out with a rule book/video and when calls are not called like it is in the book, this makes them look worse. I just cant wait till Stern is out of the NBA.

How do you really feel, eastside?

But to be honest, I didn't know all those rules. Stuff like mid-air timeouts, and just how many steps you can take (the 'hop' rule) always confused me a bit.

You're right, though: Fans should use this as a measure to see if they're being enforced.
