110-27 and 126-37

Post#1 » by bigal534 » Fri Oct 16, 2009 4:54 pm

Just a reminder, the first number is the Celtics record with Kevin Garnett as a Celtic in the regular season, and the second numbers include the championship playoff run.

%.803 win percentage
%.773 win percentage (inc. playoffs)

Thank You.

That calculates to a 66-win season with KG healthy. No records broken...

That's the record for the 09-10 season so far.

Just a reminder.

For those of you who are interested, the over under on Celtics wins set by Vegas this year is 56.5 which is IMO, extremely low. I'm almost tempted to put some money down but it ties it up for so long.

Wow. That sounds like a good bet. Anyway to place it without actually going to vegas though? I am not really a gambler as you can tell.. <g>

I've put a fair amount on them winning over 56.5 games. Book it.

And as far as them being 0-0, I completely agree, my point is that this team, as constructed, NEEDS to have homecourt throughout the playoffs, a healthy KG, and with their depth, nothing less than a Championship will be accepatble.

I wish I had put some money down on the Cs right after we got KG. If you remember, we all knew it was going to happen a day before it became official. Either that or Vagas didn't change the odds for a day after. Either way there was a great oppertunity for a day. We were a long shot to even make the playoffs. I could have put have my money on us making the playoffs, an split the other half on each round of the playoffs. Even if we just made the playoffs I would have made money and as we won it all I would have made a great deal of money.

I think the 56 is low. How do you go about placing a small bet online for this? I think it would take 2 of our "big 6" to go out for a considerable time, and at once for us to not make 56.

Hemingway,

I was one of the lucky ones that got the bet in on time. At the time, KG to the Celtics was 25-1 odds, and the Celtics to win the title was 100-1 odds. I got a $40 on the 25-1 KG to the celtics (which to this day i have NOOOO IDEA whyh i didnt just do the Max wager of $200 when we all KNEW he was coming here) and i got a 20 bet on them @ 100-1 odds. So i did alright, but considering what we knew, i could have done alot better.

BigAl, since I'm not a gambler, please explain - is the bet just whether their going to go over or under 56.5, or by how many? I don't see a place where you can predict the number of wins. What's the payout?

Thanks.

Is that games he played in or all games since we traded for him?

Well on this particular 56.5 win line set by vegas, you can bet EITHER over 56.5 win or under 56.5 wins. So in other words, if you think they're gonna go out there and win, lets say 60 games, so 60-22, then you would bet the over. If you think the are going to go 56-26, then you would in this case bet the under. The .5 basically is there so that there isnt any ties. So since I bet the over on this bet, as long as they win 57 games this year, i win the bet.

Hope that helps.

and the payout on these is generally close to even odds but it's really -105, which means you have to bet $105 to win $100. (105+100=205 payout) or bet $10.50 to win $10.00. but you can bet x amount of $'s.
