Personally I think, like every comment with Phil, that it definitely had the Rasheed comment in mind. I saw the interview and how he answered the question. He could have steered clear of it with a more general comment. But with that said he has the right to a little gamesmanship after hearing the comment.DEEP3CL wrote:I'm with Dave here, this is much ado about nothing. I don't think it was a dig at Sheed as the OP suggested. The focus is weathering the trials and tribulations of the regular season and getting to the playoffs as one unit. I'm sure it's the same for the Celtics too.Dave_From_NB wrote:Some idiot reporter probably asked him if he was going for the Bulls record, and he answered the same thing Doc would, which is it isn't important. Championships matter, regular season records don't. Don't read anything into what he said.
That's the goal here. Some of you gotta stop taking Phil so serious at his every word. The man is a Jedi master.
Phil's "harmless" reputation is self-inflicted. It may be funny to some, when he says things like Leon POW, but I assure you, if he is being condescending to a member of your team, you wouldn't like it. In other words Leon Powe is so much of a non-entity that he doesn't deserve the respect of saying his name right.
