Trade with the Raiders?
So there was an article out how the only player on their roster that is untouchable is the lockdown corner guy...
If that's true I think it would be a good idea to go after McFadden if we could get him away from the crazy old man for a reasonable price. That guy has a ton of talent and could still be a top 5 back if he was on a reasonable team, IMO.

Re: Trade with the Raiders?
I'm sure the Raiders will get a lot of calls in the next day. There is usually very little action at the NFL trade deadline but with so many very bad teams it's possible some deals will go down. Ted hates trading draft picks so I don't know who we have to trade. Kampman maybe since he's a pending free agent but it looks like Capers may have figured out how to use him a little better. But it was Detroit so who knows.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: Trade with the Raiders?
Thomas Howard is a nice linebacker that I wanted back in the Hawk draft. I don't think he's fit to be a 3-4 LB though. McFadden would be awesome and if they'd let him go for a 2nd and a 4th I'd do it.
Quentin Groves is a guy I'd target, offer a 5th.

I would trade any draft pick for any good player on a reasonable contract.

Re: Trade with the Raiders?
Man that would be exciting if the Packers made a big mid-season trade to get someone like McFadden. If McFadden could develop it would be nice having a running game that rivaled AP and the Vikes. I doubt we do anything though.

Re: Trade with the Raiders?
Yeah, it has been a no-brainer to explore trades with them for a while...but I'm sure the other 30 teams in the league also know this and the price won't be cheap for a McFadden.
You never know though with Al Davis, I guess...

Re: Trade with the Raiders?
TT is a horrible drafter so trading nay pick for a solid player is worth it. We need a running back.
The Panthers have 2 very good Running backs. I would take any of them.

Re: Trade with the Raiders?
Mcfadden would be a dream come true. I'd give a second and a conditional second next year to get him. People under estimate how bad a situation Oakland really is. Look what happened to moss in his prime when he went there.
Howard and Morrison are both solid contributors that could help.

Re: Trade with the Raiders?
It's worth mentioning the suggested Cincinnati trade again, Kampman for Collins.
Again, I have no idea how Collins has looked in the pros so far, and if he hasn't been impressive I do not endorse the deal. But with Antwan Odom going down for the season, a DE will be more appealing to them than ever. They were already having problems pressuring the QB (except against us, ugh), so the loss of him hurts them even more.

Bishop and a 5th rounder for Mc Fadden would be OK with me. I like Bishop, but the coaches don't so we may as well get something for him.

Re: Trade with the Raiders?
Really guys??? Darren McFadden??? The guy who year in and year out will miss half of the year with injuries?? The guy with the fumbling problem??? The guy who has done nothing in 1.5 years?????? The guy that would at a minimum cost us our 1st round pick next year???
I'm all about trading with the Raiders, but I'll take Michael Bush over McFadden all day. Could probably get it done for a 3rd too.

McFadden is talented, but I wouldn't give up a lot for him at this point. If you can buy low, fine, but zman is right.

I don't follow the Raiders because, well...they are the Raiders. How has Gallery been up to this point?

I'd say galley is a slighlty above average guard and would be worse than Lang at left tackle

Re: Trade with the Raiders?
Nnamdi Asomugha. I just felt like saying that because no one ever uses his name.
Gallery is a huge bust, but as said he's been decent at LG. Still wouldn't give much of anything for him. A move to T would turn him back into crap, too.
I generally agree with zman and WAH on McFadden, but I don't want Michael Bush either.

Re: Trade with the Raiders?
I know this is a late post, since the trade deadline is already over.
But I don't think all these guys on the Raiders are busts. I mean, think about all the high draft picks they have had. There is no way they missed on EVERYONE. The thing is, they don't have anyone developing these kids. These kids have a new coaching staff almost every other year. And they are all forced into a game plan that doesn't work in the NFL.
I am not saying our coaching staff is great. I don't like what MM does for the most part. But I can almost guarantee that if we got our hands on some of these kids that the Raiders are busy ruining, we would stand a decent chance making them at least a solid player.

Re: Trade with the Raiders?
Gallery, specifically, was a massive bust at LT and is considered one of the bigger OL busts in history. He was expected to be one of the premier LTs in the league for a long time, and he was absolutely awful. He didn't even make it to LT until his third or fourth year in the league. He was so bad that they used the #2 overall pick at RT.
JaMarcus Russell had red flags from day one. He has a cannon arm, and go figure Al Davis fell in love with it. The guy cannot throw the football. He looks lost. And it's remarkable how unaccurate he is.
Darren McFadden has boatloads of talent (and measurables, once again), but he's also 6'3 and runs upright. Injuries were always a concern and it's plagued him thus far in his career. If he ever gets healthy he's got a chance to do some things, but whoever drafted him knew going in that they'd likely have to deal with these things.
You can only blame so much on the coaches. When they've had good players there, they've still looked good. Nnamdi Asomugha has been doing it there for years, Richard Seymour has been relatively dominant this year, and Zach Miller has certainly had his moments, too. At the end of the day, Al Davis is running the franchise and he doesn't know how to draft. Obviously the verdict is still out on DHB (and JR and McFadden, to be fair), but he was clearly drafted just because he can run fast - drafted over the 2x Biletnikoff award winner and consensus #1 receiver, and also Jeremy Maclin who many had over DHB as well. Just one example.
So while you can say that the guys don't have any consistent coaching, you could also say that they don't because they coaches don't have much to work with and Al Davis gets frustrated with them over his own draft choices.
