DeRozan, Wright or T-Will?

Post#1 » by JH5 » Tue Oct 20, 2009 5:08 am

Who would you pick up out of Julian Wright, DeMar DeRozan and Terrence Williams? I'll get one instead of Budinger.

Roster Positions: PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C, C, Util, Util, BN, BN, BN
Players Stat Categories: Field Goal Percentage (FG%), Free Throw Percentage (FT%), 3-point Shots Made (3PTM), Points Scored (PTS), Total Rebounds (REB), Assists (AST), Steals (ST), Blocked Shots (BLK), Turnovers (TO)

It's my first year playing fantasy nba. I'm in a 14 team Head to head league. I think I drafted ok, but not great (especially late). What's my team like? Who should I get rid of or get?

1. (8) Kevin Durant
2. (21) Brook Lopez
3. (36) Ray Allen [didn't make my pick on time, so auto pick]
4. (49) Rajon Rondo
5. (64) Emeka Okafor
6. (77) Anthony Randolph
7. (92) Ramon Sessions
8. (105) Trevor Ariza
9. (120) Tyreke Evans
10. (133) Chris Andersen
11. (148) Anderson Varejao
12. (161) Brandon Jennings
13. (176) Chase Budinger

Below is a list of the first available 25 FA in my league.

Delonte West
Robin Lozpez
Matt Barnes
Travis Outlaw
Andray Blatche
Julian Wright
JaVale McGee
Jerryd Bayless
Joel Przybilla
Jrue Hiliday
Nick Young
Yao Ming
Joe Alexander
Rafer Alston
Nick Collison
DeMar DeRozan
Carlos Delfino
Chris Wilcox
Beno Udrih
Luc Richard Mbah a Moute
Mckael Pietrus
Terrence Williams
Erick Dampier
Nioclas Batum

Cheers.

At the moment I see no reason to give up on Budinger for any of those players, he looks good in preseason and I really think he is worth a shot just as much as the other guys you are thinking about (If not more).

As for your drafting, I think you did very good, Jennings, where you got him, should be a great steal. The only one I might drop is Varejao, if you can pick up Hibbert, McGee, Speightes or Deandre Jordan, I would take them instead because of their upside.

Wright is the one player who's guaranteed to see minutes.

So maybe get Wright for Budinger?

Should I keep Sessions or try get another guard? Same with Chris Andersen?

I would drop Budinger for Wright. Maybe Budinger will turn out all right as a basketball player, but I don't see him having much value in fantasy this year.

Like most rookies with some talent expect for him to drop a nice statline in a handful of games, but over the course of a season / week I feel like Wright will give you more.

Pietrus should see his short term value increase with Shard being out with his 10 game suspension, and of the other guys you listed I'd monitor Andray Blatche.

I like Deroz because if it's a Yahoo! league, he can play 3 positions. That is a big deal to me. After that Wright because he's supposed to be more focused after being told he's only playing SF this year.

On a side note, your team looks pretty good, but your FT% is a mess. You have guys who shoot amazingly, and guys who shoot terribly. I'd trade Emeka for someone who shoots better from the stripe, unless you plan on booting FT%, then i'd trade Lopez. Also, another PG (or anyone with assists) should be a priority.

T-Will killer game today, but dropped Budinger for Corey Brewer. Getting decent numbers and will have the shooting gaurd possy.

I'm thinking Varejao out for Jordan (Clip) or Luc Richard!
