I'm not a huge predictor of stats because well, I'm just not good at it. But I did want to mention for the "Over/Under" for 5 Sellouts. ...i'm going WAAAAAAAAAAAY under. UNLESS we become a surefire playoff team we are NOT selling out a single game at just over 20,000 seats. a "source" told me yesterday that we didn't even sell out the Cleveland game last year (although it was announced as a sell out I believe) and Cleveland only came to Charlotte once. We still have over 7,000 tickets available for OPENING NIGHT! ..yeah, it's against the lowly Knicks..but there are NY fans EVERYWHERE. Anyways, sorry, just wanted to throw my 2 cents in about sell outs. I wish we could get some energy in the arena at the BEGINNING of the year like we had at the end of the year. Maybe we'd get off to a good start instead of the typical crappy starts which kills the casual fan base.

Diaw is a problem but hopefully he gets in shape.
If so
Wallace 19 points 7 rebounds
Diaw 15 points 6 pathetic rebounds
Tyson 8 points 10 rebounds 1.5 pathetic blocks
DJ the man Augustine 16 points 6 assists
Raymond need a contract Felton 17 points 6 assists
Flip 13 points
Graham 7 points
Henderson 10 good points with good D
Radman 10 points
Bell will be traded
8th seed.

If Felton's dropping 72 ppg, 65 apg, and 111.5 spg, wouldn't you think we'd be at least worthy of 9th or 10th place?

Would your prediction change if you knew that there are, in reality, only 19,026 seats for professional basketball? The 20,200 # is the expandable number seats by adding non permanent seats for big events, like NCAA tourney, all-star game etc.
How many seats are in Time Warner Cable Arena?
Time Warner Cable Arena offers the ultimate in flexible seating; from a 4,000 - 7,000 theater set up to more than 20,000 people for a collegiate basketball tournament. Maximum seating capacities are listed below: Sporting Events
* NBA Basketball: 19,026

I thought it was "shots" per game, in which case 111.5 smells about right.

Re: team predictions for 2009/10
OK, here's mine as of 10/22/09 (I don't try stats as I just don't have time and I know they'll be wrong):
Record: 36-46 finishing 10th in the east
Season Summary: I believe the team gets off to another very bad start, struggles to find chemistry, makes a bold trade before the deadline and becomes a better team later in the season.
Team MVP - Boris Diaw
6th Man Award - DJ
Most Improved - Derrick Brown
Most Promising - Gerald Henderson
Bold Predictions:
> Bell does not get traded as his value due to his injury is low. Greater value to the Cats as an expiring contract.
> Cats engineer a bold trade prior to the deadline. The trade includes Wallace and Felton, and returns a starting PF and a reserve guard. This moves Diaw to the 3, backing up at the 4. DJ moves to the starter spot at PG, with Henderson beginning to take more minutes at the 2. These moves actually help the team become even better than last season, but way too late to become a factor in the playoff race.
> Tyson Chandler plays better in the 2nd half of the season than the 1st. Between his conditioning, the ankle and chemistry, many are thinking the trade was a bust for the Cats. But his impact begins to grow by game #30, and he shows flashes of good chemistry with Augustine prior to the big trade. Late in the season people will be saying "what if he was healthy, and had been hooked up with DJ and this group all season?".
> Nazr plays better as a reserve, but not well enough to attract a quality trade offer. Diop is just bad, and gets random minutes like Nazr got last year. Ajinca flounders, pouts, and is traded for a 2nd round pick.
> Gerald Henderson improves enough to be a decent player at the 2, taking starter minutes more often in the 2nd half of the season. Derrick Brown improves he was a steal in the draft, improving from rough early performances to taking minutes away from Vlad and becoming a solid part of the rotation by year's end.

Re: team predictions for 2009/10
I think the the 35- to 40-win range seems reasonable. I also agree with Bassman about the second half for Chandler.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Charlotte be 24-31 at the break, and then go 14-13 to close out the season (or something similar, anyway).

Actually it's just about right. Since he'll be shooting 97% there's not many rebounds to go around at least offensively.
