JJ Redick

I saw someone post this on the trade boards.

Wilkins for Redick swap.

It would be nice to have a outside shooter and the salarys would work out and there both expirings.

What are your thoughts?

that'd be awesome, I definitely don't want to watch a bunch of cagey veterans suck it up all year.

I'd do it -- it seems to work for both teams. ORL gets the cagey veteran, and MIN picks up a younger journeyman who has a skill-set (outside shooting) where we are deficient.

and did you see that highlight block against Deng? That was shocking and Deng should have to forfeit his contract.

Highly doubt Orlando would pull the trigger on this.

JR
What would we think we would need to throw in to make this trade happen?
Because if its acceptable i think JJ would be a great pickup for us. Not saying he will be a starter but a good role player off the bench.

What does that have to do with anything?

I think ORL would do that deal straight up. They don't hate Redick, but he's been on the block for some time now. They get scoring from a lot of places, particularly since they added Vince Carter, so I think Wilkins defense may be more appealing. Wilkins has more experience than Redick as well, and that may help their bench.

I'd do this deal, but I don't think it would happen. Even though ORL wants to trade J.J. for the right price, I think they can do better than Wilkins.

Hey, a (friendly) Magic fan here.

I have no issue with trading Redick. But I don't think I'd do this deal. The #1 thing we need from any kind of trade is a good backup PG. Redick's expiring contract possibly paired up with our Hedo TPE or even Gortat could get us that later. .
