Twolves finally have a real PG- Flynn

Post#1 » by hotshotschamp » Fri Oct 23, 2009 12:02 pm

I am jumping on the Flynn bandwagon feet first. I think after all these years of having junk pg's and combo pg's like Foye, we have finally struck gold here.

I know it's only pre-season ball, but you can tell Flynn is legit. I'm not saying he's the next cp3 or anything crazy, but he has all the makings of a real good nba pg for a long time.

- He can score the basketball ( over the years, he should work on his outside shot a bit though)
- His ability to get to the FT line is something we haven't had in YEARS, he has that extra gear, and can actually finish around the hoop.
- His passing is excellent, that half court pass last night was a beauty and has a real good feel of how to get his teammates involved in the game.
- He uses screens real well, to get himself space, and create a lane to the basket and explode
- I know it's "cliche" and everyone says it, but it's true, he has "it", he has that great personality of a leader, always smiling, joking with the guys but intense once that ball is dropped, he's going to be a marketable fan favorite.

I commend the twolves organization for drafting Flynn, I would allmost wager anything he is our long term pg, unless a serious injury or something of that nature happens. Rubio I hope you do great in spain, and increase your trade value a ton, as he can be a great chip for us. But I think over the next 2 years while Flynn is cementing his NBA career as a wolve, Rubio will be on the outside looking in, not due to his play, but Flynn's play for the wolves.

I now feel confident in the point guard spot ( flynn) PF spot (Love) and C spot (Jefferson)
In 2010 in FA and draft its time to address the SG/SF spots and I believe we will.

I think either Flynn or Sessions will be a very good to great PG.

[Not getting playing time and primarily playing with the 2nd string has hurt Sessions production.]

I think Sessions should be getting playing time at SG as well.

Yeah i'm not sure what to think on the whole Sessions issue. I think it's clear to anyone, Flynn is this teams starter and has by far the most upside of the two.

However Sessions signed a nice contract and will want some burn too. Could be some grumblings if he's getting 16 minutes per game, but what can ya do. I like sessions, he's a good cerebral player, he doesn't have Flynn's athletic gifts but he's a quality backup/ average starter.

He could be used as trade bait if some teams starter goes down I'd imagine or who knows, with our luck Flynn could get hurt.

I think the Twolves clearly are saying Johnny Flynn is our PG though, and sessions is the backup. No matter how they spin it in the media or what not.

flynn's ability to get to the free throw line is something this franchise has ALWAYS lacked.

I love that part of his game.

Yeah, I'm really anticipating seeing if he continues to get to the line like this once the real refs are back and the regular season is underway so we know if this is legit.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

I can't decide if I want to get on the Brewer bandwagon or the Flynn bandwagon. Hmmm, Rev's driving the Brewer wagon and Basti's driving the Flynn wagon.... decisions, decisions

I'm still not ready to hop on the Brewer wagon yet!!

He still looks out of control too much for my liking, and his shot isn't exactly pure...
He does look better, but look at who he's playing with, someone has to score the basketball and take shots. Not sure it will be close to this once Love/jeff are back.

If Brewer just turns out to be average, I'll take that!

I am sitting over on the Sessions bus waiting for it to get rolling, but its going to require some playing time to get going from what I can tell.

Anyone have a clue as to why Rambser has sentenced him to time on the bench? Is he even being played spot minutes at the 2?

i kind of see Flynn as being smaller version of Dwayne Wade. hopefully we can add some other pieces in the backcourt to compliment him. i like what i've seen from brewer so far, but i will have to temper that enthusiasm until he shows more of a sustained progression. i believe a lot Brewer's problems lie in his lack of confidence.

I'll drive the Rubio bandwagon. He had 9 points and 9 assists last game with Barca. I'm cool with driving alone bumping Lil Wayne for a couple years. But when you get on the bandwagon I'm not changing the music!

Flynn is the second most exciting PG we have had right now. Marbury is number one.

Haha that's fine I'll teach em a lil bit about college. Actually might end up doing something like that with "World Endeavors", but that's more like inter-city gangsta kids...we'll see.

Can we hitch the Flynn and Brewer wagons together?

I really didn't like Flynn going into the draft due to his size and scoring mentality at SYR. He's really proved me wrong so far in summer league and preseason.

At seasons end he may surpass Love as my #1 Wolf, but I doubt it. Switching jersey numbers from 11 (which looked like fangs) to 10 hurt him too much.

don't listen to him Lupus. Norel may very well become the greatest Henk to ever play the game.
