Looks like we might be getting a few international fans.

And yes, all reports are that the muscle devil has broken out of his cage and attacked the very soul of the nearest basketball.

IMO, he's not soft...but you obviously wouldnt consider him to be a physical player in the NBA...However, he does not shy away from contact...he rebounds tough, we've seen him block shots and challenge big men...we know he doesnt have the greatest physical abilities and there are times where he even knows he is overmatched...I think its more of an awkwardness with his body that fans may confuse with him not being physical or going strong whether offense or defense...it all goes back to the Nets pushing him to dunk the ball...and right before he got hurt last year, you saw Yi become more aggressive with his play on both sides of the floor...Yi is still figuring out his body, how to use his size and how he matches up vs certain big men in the NBA...

bottom line: he's a big man who has to play big... his athelticism is under rated and his coordination is more of the issue than anything else...

I'm looking forward to seeing the new Yi...the extra training and play overseas will definitely benefit his game this year...I hope he brings it the way he should...any type of extra weight muscle wise is gonna be big plus to his game...he'll recognize it minute 1 vs the first NBA big he faces...

No Vince Carter this season, so I'm expecting Yi to put up solid numbers. We'll see how he does vs the Knicks.

First of all this article makes me want to puke:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/trainingc ... ett-091011

Second of all I like how the article glosses over the buckets Yi dropped on KG.

Actually it's pretty funny. If one were to read that without looking at the boxscore one would think Garnett dropped 30 on YI when in reality he had 12 and 6. Yi outscored him and grabbed more boards... but yeah Garnett's intensity >> all..

The Nets have a great young core in Lopez, Lee, CDR, TWill, plus Harris. If Yi can break out this season, the chance of getting Lebron will be much greater.

The summer workouts did wonders he's got a left handed flip shot around the rim now.
Outplayed Elton Brand last night too.

I don't see Yi keeping this up all season. When we play teams with defensive minded power forwards, not Elton Brand, you will see just how weak Yi's game around the basket really is. To be fair I haven't monitored his progress from last season to this one, but last season he wasn't even a standout in NCAA basketball with that low arching, weak release.

17-12 in 24 minutes. He could have bailed the team out with more minutes. Shame on Frank

I'm pretty sure that the boxscores on NBA.com are incorrect, all the other sites I have looked at had Yi playing 36-37 minutes yesterday.
